PuhlicApathy
Public apathy is the biggest
problem facing civil defense lead
ers, Lt. Col. P. M. Goff of the
School of Military Science told
the February meeting of the Amer
ican Association of University
Women.
He stated that this community,
having experienced a tornado last
spring, should realize the need for
a disaster relief organization. He
emphasized that civil defense is
concerned with natural disasters
as well as with attack by an en
emy.
The local civil defense program
has made progress since last
spring, Col. Goff said. He stated
that the county judge has been
made the key coordinator and that
College Station has been divided
into four different areas with a
warden for each.
