Coach Abe Martin sent the squad through another light drill Wed nesday, emphasizing conditioning and timing. Quarterbacks Charles (Chuck) Curtis and Hunter Enis passed well in a brief aerial drill. Pardee Faces Len Dawson MONTGOMERY, Ala .— (A*) — When 48 college seniors show their gridiron abilities in the annual Blue-Gray game here Dec. 29, eve ry position will have a man who made honorable mention on The Associated Press All-America list. Of this group of 13 standout per formers, eight will play for the Confederate all-stars and five for the Yankees. „ Despite the Southern squad’s nu- Dawson is the first Big Ten player to lead the conference in both passing and rushing for three years in a row. His record this year was 69 pass completions in 130 attempts for 856 yards and 7 touchdowns. While the North appears to be concentrating on an aerial offense, the Rebels’ strength seems to come principally • from a running- game. (Spl)— A&M’s cagers move to Tallahassee, Fla., tonight to test Florida State after dropping a 75-63 decision to Mississippi Southern here last night. Bob Kinney, 6-9 center, was the difference in the game—the agile post man controlling both back- boards and hitting 27 points, high for the night’s action. Ken Hutto paced the Aggies with 22 points on seven field goals and eight of 11 free throws, but once again the huge height advantage spelled victory over the compara tively little Cadets. With Ted Harrod and the con sistent sophomore. Jack Schwake, out with a virus infection and swift Neil Swisher at half speed -with an injured ankle, the Aggies of Coach Ken Loeffler dropped their fourth consecutive road con test. A&M was colder than the north erner which blew in here last night, trailing midway of the opening half, 26-8, before George Mehaffey, Hutto and sophomore Tom Kolle pulled the Ags to within 12 points at the, intermission. Aftei' the half the Cadets bounc ed back to within seven points of the southerners, a position they reached six times during the. final 20 minutes with each team alter nating field goals for 10 minutes. Mehaffey fouled out with seven minutes remaining and the home team pulled away. Mississippi Southern hit 50.9 per cent of its field goals while the Aggies had a 38.1 percentage. Dick Dowell had seven and Don Durham had six points for the winning Walton quintet but high scoring honors go to Gary Wells. The Milner flash dumped in 16 points to make the game a one man show. Gerald Bullington got eight and Gordon Meritt had six points to lead D Field Artillery over Squad ron 10 in a Class B basketball game by the score of 22-15. Dur- wood Leeis with five was high for the Air Force team. Charlie Thornton and Larry Cole had 26 point between them to lead Sqdn. 9 over A AAA, 33-26 in another Class B game. Thornton, had 14 and Cole 12 while Claud Wright had 13 for the losing AAA group. TOM McDOUGALD set the pace with four points as Sqdn. 11 beat C Field Autillery, 9-7. Stan Hum phries with three was high for the Field team. In Class A football yesterday Don Weber, Frank Krupa, and Bud Fichte coupled their efforts to lead ATC past Sqdn. 6, 13-0. Don Weber scored the first TD on a 10-yard jaunt after taking a perfect toss from Bud Fichte. The extra point was wide, leaving the score for the moment at 6-0.
