Kilgore, profes sor of philosophy at Baylor Uni versity, will speak at a “Skeptic Hour” session Friday at the BSU beginning at 7 p. m. His lecture concerns the more common types of doubt about religious beliefs as faced by the thinking college stu dent. Students will be encouraged to pi’esent freely their questions and skepticism after the speaker pre sents a philosophical background for problems 'of this nature, L. E. Sheppard, BSU program chairman said. Dr. Kilgoi'e holds an AB degree from Baylor University and a Doctor of Theology degree from Southern Baptist Seminary, Louis ville, Ky. He did post graduate work at the Universities of Buenos Aires, Columbia and Texas. He seiwed as professor of philosophy and religion at Georgetown College in 1943 prior to being appointed as a missionary to Argentina by the Southern Baptist Foreign Mis sion Board, where he served until 1949. While in Argentina, Dr. Kilgore was president of the Ai-gentine Baptist Mission and chairman of the philosophy department at the Buenos Aires Baptist Seminary. He has been teaching in the philosophy department at Baylor since 1949 and is currently serving as vice- president of the Texas Commission on race relations. Social Whirl AGGIE WIVES BRIDGE Club will meet tonight at 7:30 in the MSC. Instructors for the three groups, beginners, intermediates, and regulars, will be present. Hostesses for the regulai's will be Billie Caruth and Kathleen Volz. The A&M Chapter of UNIVER SITY DAMES will hold its annual fall tea for new and prospective members Tuesday at 8 p. m. in the YMCA. Membership is open to all student wives. For more infor mation call Mary Ragland, VI6-4394, after 5 p. m. * * ❖ A picnic at Hensel Park Wednes day has been set by the CIVIL ENGINEERING WIVES CLUB to begin their fall activities. Volley ball and softball will start at 5 p. m.; supper is at 6:15 p. m. All C. E. wives are invited to attend and bring their families. Each member is asked to bring fried chicken and one other dish. Soft drinks and paper plates will be furnished. * * * The Aggie Wives BOWLING LEAGUE meeting Friday night at 7:30 p. m. in the Radio Room of the Bowling Alley will highlight at film on bowling to be shown by John Geiger, MSC Bowling Alley manager. Following the film, election of officers for the year will be held. Also bowling times and days will be set for league bowling. Following the business meeting, bowling will be held fi-om 8:30 to 10:30, Nancy McCarty, League pi’esident said. All wives clubs wishing to bowl should have mem bers present. Geiger will give in structions. AGGIE COUPLES BRIDGE Club will meet Friday night at 7:30 in the South Solarium of the YMCA. Lucile and Poe Prior are hostess and host.
