Consolidated Group Discusses Planning The Education Commission of A&M Consolidated will meet today at 1 p.m. to discuss future plan ning and needs of school systems, Dr. Charles La Motte, president, has announced. The past two weekly meetings have been the discussion and re ports on using art, physical edu cation, activity programs, clubs, language, social studies, English WhaVs Cooking (Continued from Page 2) Lower Trinity Valley Club will meet in room 328 of the Academic Building to discuss Club picture. Fayette-Colorado Ho.metown Club will meet in room 207 of the Aca demic Building. El Paso Hometown Club will meet in the Academic Building. Beaumont A&M Club will meet in the Assembly Room of the MSC to take picture for the Aggieland. Refreshments will be served and a film of the 1955 A&M-TCU foot ball game will be shown. South Central Texas Hometown Club will meet in room 3D of the MSC to make final plans on picture and Easter Party. and math, given by Mrs. H. S. Creswell, elementary principal; W. T. Riedel, junior high principal and J. J. Skrivanek, Jr., senior high principal. The group visited classes of phy sical education, art and music. Mrs. Creswell gave detailed reports'* on the Sloop Method of Phonetic Method of Reading. All records including health, report cards, teacher registers, grade books, daily lesson plans and all perma nent records of the child were dis played and explained. Skrivanek gave a requested re port on entrance qualifications of college and universities. The com mittee was given a current senior high handbook including the com plete curriculum offered which meets all requirements for college entrance. He also gave a report on interscholastic meets including Consolidated participation in the schedules for this year. Dr. Les Richardson, superinten dent of Consolidated schools, con cluded the meeting with an athle tic fund statement and discussion of fhe Gulf School Research De velopment Association of which the Consolidated system is a member. Mrs. Jenkins, who grad uated from Colorado Woman’s College in Denver with a degree in journalism, belongs to Architect’s Wives Club, Bridge Club, and is a member of the First Baptist Church, College Station. Add soup, water, noodles, corn, olives and salt. Sprinkle cheese over mixture and cook over low heat until noodles are tender. Serves 6-8 people. TWENTY-FOUR HOUR SALAD 1-—12 oz. can pineapple tidbits 1 cup heavy cream, whipped 2 eggs, slightly beaten 16 marshmallows, quartered or % cup sugar % lb. cup flour ' Vk cup choped walnuts Dash salt 1 cup grapes, chopped % cup lemon juice A day ahead begin draining pineapple, reserving x /z cup syrup. Mix syrup in saucepan with eggs, sugar, flour and salt. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly ’til very thick an dsmooth. Stir in lemon juice and refrigerate until cool. Fold in whipped cream. Lightly mix in pineapple, marshmallows, nuts, grapes. Refrigerate 24 hours. Spoon into hollowed pineapple shell or lettuce cups on tray. Serves 8-10 persons. FRUIT COBBLER 1 large can peaches Butter 1 T. com starch Nutmeg 1 cup sugar Drain juice from peaches (or apricots) and add water to make two cups. Mix water, juice and cornstarch. Add % cup of sugar and chopped fruit. Dot generously with butter and sprinkle with nut meg. Top with latticed hot Water pastry (recipe given below), and sprinkle with nutmeg, X A cup sugar and dot with butter. Cook a 450° until crust is done. HOT WATER PASTRY This recipe is enough for three cobblers, pies or other pastry recipes and is ideal because it will keep indefinitely in the refrigerator. 3 cups sifted flour Vz t. baking powder 1 cup Crisco Vz cup boiling water iy 2 T. salt Place all ingredients in bowl and add boiling water, mixing well. Form a ball. Place in refrigerator until firm. Cut and use as desired.
