AUSTIN —Texas school dis
tricts will get $3 more a student
than originally expected from
the available school fund as the
State Board of Education yes
terday set the per-student fig
ure at $76.

LONDON—An angry Prime Min
ister Eden yesterday recalled the
top British officers of Jordan’s
Arab Legion. The sharp action
was taken because the Foreign
Office has concluded for the first
time that the danger of aggression
arises from the Arab side in the
Middle East dispute with Israel.
The implications in the thinking
of the Foreign Office, reflected in
the decision to withdraw the top
British officers, could be far-reach
ing. It could mean the British will
no longer use their influence
against a flow of defensive weap
ons to Israel.
