Page 4 THE BATTALION Friday, December 16, 1955 CS Churches Prepare for Christmas Bethel Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) Children in the Christmas pro gram will have rehearsals at 9 a.m. tomorrow and at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Sunday School will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by morning worship service at 10:45. The sermon- topic will be “God’s Plan of Sav ing Sinners.” St. Thomas Episcopal Chapel Holy Communion will be ob served at 8 and 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the church. Church School starts at 9;30 a.m. and morning prayer and sermon will begin at 11. A coffee hour will be held in the Parish Hall between the two morning services, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. The sermon-topic for Sun day will be “The Prophets Still Speak.” Sunday afternoon the Church School wilj have its annual Christ mas Pageant and party. The Page ant portrays the story of the birth of Christ, with each class present ing a scene from the story. They are as follows: The Old Testament prophets, fourth grade; annunciation, third grade; manger sceie, first grade; shepherds and angels,' kindergarten; wise men, fifth grade; reader and music, sen ior class. Following the Pageant will be a party for the children in the Par ish Hall with refreshments pro vided by the Women’s Auxiliary. Faith Evangelical and Reformed Church “Where Is He?” is the sermon- topic for the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday. Sunday School begins at 9:15 a.m. The Sunday School Christmas program will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The public is cordially invited. Christian Science Society “Is the Universe, including man, evolved by atomic force?” is the lesson-sermon to be read at the 11 a.m. services Sunday. Man’s God-given dominion over sickness of every kind will be em phasized in readings from the King James Version of the Bible in cluding the following selection from Jeremiah (17:14): “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.” Church of Christ Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. followed by morning service at 10:45 a.m. Young People’s Class will start at 6:15 p.m. fol lowed by evening services at 7:15 p.m. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday in the YMCA Chapel. St. Mary’s Catholic Chapel Mass will be said at 8:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday; the 7 a.m. service will not be held. Confession will be offered from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. College Heights Assembly of God Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. followed by worship services at 11 a.m. “The Spirit Liken Unto the Wind” is the sermon topic for Sunday. Christmas program will be held at 7:30 tonight with the exchang ing of gifts. A&M Presbyterian Church Worship services will be conduc ted at 8:45 and 11 a.m. Sunday. REGALIA FOR BACCALAUREATE SERMON AND COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES: All students who are candidates for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy are required to order hoods as well as the doctor’s cap and gown, and to leave the hoods with the Registrar no later than 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10. 1956. The Ph. D. hoods will not be worn in the procession since all such candidates will be hooded on the stage. Candidates for the Master’s and Pro fessional degrees will wear the master’s cap and gown; those who are candidates for the Bachelor’s degree, except military students, will wear the bachelor’s cap and gown. All military students who are candidates for degrees will wear the appropriate mil itary uniform. Rental of caps and gowns may be ar ranged with the College Exchange Store. In her letter, Miss Hudson “expressed appreciation for the privilege of coming to A&M to re port on her experiences”. “I’ve never met such a great group of guys anywhere and I al ways feel so alive with them be cause they are so vitally interested in so many things of great import ance,” she said. First Baptist Church “Israel’s Warrior King” is the sermon topic for the 8:45 and 11 a.m. services Sunday. Church School will begin at 9:40 a.m. Miss Margaret Berry will sing “The Birthday of the King”. A&M Methodist Church Church School will begin at 9:45 a.m. Sunday and worship services will be held at 10:45 a.m. Inter mediate and Senior MYF will be held at 5:45 and 6:30 p.m. respec tively. College Laundry Schedule Posted Students who have not picked up their laundry by noon Saturday, will have to wait until after the holidays to do so, according to J. H. Kincaid Sr., laundry manager. College laundry picked up at 8 p.m. Wednesday will not be ready for delivery until after Tuesday, January 3, Kincaid said. The main station will close at 4:30 p.m., Dec. 22, and remain closed until 8 a.m., January 3. Stu dents staying here during the Christmas holidays may take thqir laundry to the main station Mon day, Dec. 19, and have it done at the commercial price. This laun dry must be accompanied by a blue slip which can be gotten at the main station. Laundry may be picked up the following Tuesday or Wednesday, said Kincaid. Student’s names beginning with A through N may turn in their laundry without the regular 15 cents out of place charge on Tues day, Jan. 3. A&M Christian Church Coffee time is held at 9:30 a.m. preceding Sunday School at 9:45. Morning service starts at 11 a.m. Children’s Fellowship begins at 3:30 p.m. and both the Christian Youth Fellowship and Disciples Student Fellowship start at 5 p.m. Baptist Student Center Vespers will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at the center. Bill Myers will be in charge of the program. Wesley Foundation Vespers will start at 7 p.m. to day at the Foundation. Church of the Nazarene Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. with morning worship follow ing at 11. “The Purpose of Christ Coming” will be the sermon topic for the service.
