Page 4 i 'S Swimmers Set Records At Golfcrest College Station’s intermedi ate swimmers, with 44 points in the girls’ division and 29 in the boys’, took third and fourth place in these divisions "respectively at the Golfcrest In vitational Meet held at Golfcrest Country Club in Houston Saturday, Aug. 6. John Harrington, who led the boys to their fourth place, took first place and set a new meet record in the 100-yard backstroke. His time was 1:05.1. He also took first in the 200-yard breaststroke and second in the 200-yard indivi dual medley and swam with Tom Ivy and Richard Badgett on the 200-yard medley relay team, which won third place. Richard Badgett took fifth in the 100-yard butterfly breaststroke and sixth in the 200-yard individual medley. Another new meet record was set by the girls’ medley relay team, composed of Judy Litton, Martha Shawn and Gail Schlessel- man, who swam the 200 yards in a time of 2:26.7. Gail also took two second places, in the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard breaststroke, and Martha won first in the 100-yard back- stroke and fifth in the 200-yard individual medley. Judy placed third and sixth respectively in the 100-yard freestyle and the 200- yard individual medley. In the junior division races Fri day Mary Frances Badgett, who swam the 100-yard breaststroke, took the only first place for the girls. She also swam with Patsy Wilkins and Patsy Varvel on the third-place medley relay team, and on the fifth-place freestyle relay with Helen Klipple, Patsy Varvel and Patsy Wilkins. Patsy Wilkins won second place in the 100-yard individual medley. Ann Schlesselman and Geri Lap- ham were the only local gh’ls en tered in the senior division Sunday. Ann took third in the 100-yard backstroke and fourth in the 200- yard freestyle, while Geri won fourth in the 100-yard butterfly and fifth in the 200-yard breast stroke. Leading the senior boys was Tetsuo Okamoto, wbo won second in the 100-yard butterfly and third in the 100-yard freestyle and swam on the third-place freestyle relay team with Roland Baird, Skippy Fletcher and Don Draper and on the fourth-place medley relay with Baird and Draper. Baird took fifth in the 200-yard individual medley and sixth in the 400-yard freestyle; Fletcher placed sixth in the 200-yard freestyle. College Station senior swimmers took fifth place in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions. Aggie Wives Elect Mrs. Henderson Pat Henderson was elected presi dent of the Aggie Wives Bridge Club at the meeting last Thursday night in the Memorial Student Cen ter. Other officers elected were Kathy Rowin, vice-president; Lucille Pry or, secretary; Maudene Chambers, treasurer; and Mary Dannenburg, reporter. Barbara Cloninger was chosen to be representative to the Aggie Wives Council. Mrs. Dannenburg and Mrs. Chambers were hostesses for She meeting. Marly s Johnson won first place, and Mrs. Chambei’s took second. Kathrine Martin had low score. The next meeting of the group will be tonight at 7:30 in the MSC. In a Sweat??
