Taking first places for tke girls were Ann Schlesselman, w]#o swam the 400-meter freestyle, Gail Schlesselman, 100-meter butterfly breaststroke, and Martha Shawn in the 100-meter backstroke. Gail also won second place in the 200-meter breaststroke, and both she and Martha swam on the sec ond-place 266%-meter medley re lay team with Mary Frances Badg- ett and Judy Litton. John Harrington and Tetsuo Okamoto led in the men’s division. Harrington garnered a first in the 100-meter backstroke, and Okamo to, a first in the 266%-meter indi vidual medley, in which Harrington took second. Both swam on the 400-meter medley relay team, which got second place. Complete results for the College Station team are as follows: Women’s 100-meter backstroke— 1, Martha Shawn. 2, Ann Schles selman. Women’s 100 - meter butterfly breaststroke—1, Gail Schlesselman. 4, Patsy Wilkins. Women’s 200-meter freestyle—4, Mary Varvel. Women’s 200-meter breaststroke •—2, Gail Schlesselman. Women’s 400-meter freestyle—1, Ann Schlesselman. 3, Helen Klip- ple. Women’s 266%-meter individual medley—4, Martha Shawn. Women’s 266%-meter medley re lay—2, College Station (Mary Frances Badgett, Martha Shawn, Judy Litton and Gail Schlessel man). Women’s 266%-meter freestyle relay—4, College Station (Patsy Wilkins, Mary Varvel, Judy Litton and Ann Schlesselman). Men’s 100-meter backstroke—1, John Harrington. 5, Ray Cook. Men’s 400 - meter freestyle—3, Roland Baird. 5, Skippy Fletcher. Men’s 266% - meter individual medley—1, Tetsuo Gkamoto. 2, John Harrington. 4, Ray Cook. Men’s 400-meter medley relay— 2, College Station (Gayle Klipple, John Harrington, Tetsuo Okamoto and Richard Badgett). Men’s 400-meter freestyle relay •—3, College Station (Gayle Klipple, Roland Baird, Tetsuo Okamoto and Pon Draper). Following is the final score by teams: Women’s Division—1, Shamrock, 66. 2, Golfcrest, 48. 3, College Station, 45. 4, West University, 26. 5, Shakespeare Aquatic Club, 4. Men’s Division—1, Golfcrest, 54. 2, Shamrock, 52. 3, College Sta tion, 37. 4, Mustang Aquatic Club, 12. 5, West University, 10. Three members of the team— Gail Schlesselman, Martha Shawn and John Harrington—will go to San Antonio Satuixiay to partici pate in the Texas State AAU Swimming Championships. Martha and John will swim the 110- and 220-yard backstroke races in the women’s and men’s division respec tively, while Gail will swim the 220-yard breaststroke and the 110- yard butterfly breaststroke.
