May 19, 1955 Aggie Athletic Teams Get Awards Tonight Nine Aggie athletic teams, in cluding a national champion and two Southwest conference title holders, will be honored tonight at the annual Spring Athletic Ban quet. The banquet begins at 7:30 p.m. in the new seating addition of Kyle field with the presentation of tro phies to the teams. The banquet is co-sponsored by the Brazos A&M club and the athletic department. “There will be a fine barbeque supper along with the award cere mony, and all ex-students are in vited to come,” said Herschel Bur gess, president of the Brazos A&M club. Tickets for the supper are $1.25 to all ex-students who wish to at tend. Trophies will be presented to the basketball, baseball, track, golf, swimming, tennis, fencing, rifle arid pistol teams by the team coaches. The Aggie pistol team won the national collegiate championship earlier this year at Tampa, Florida, while the baseball and fencing teams just recently brought con ference crowns to Aggieland. Runners-up in conference compe tition were the track, golf and swimming squads.
