His attempted conversion was wide to the left. Kettler gave the Maroons a final scoring chance, intercepting a pass and running it 13 yards to the Red 48. He got eight on a keeper, and Jack Pardee slammed for 17 on a delay. An offsides and a holding penal ty bogged down the drive, however, and “UCLA” took over on its 23 with about a minute left. Afterwards, Bryant said, “There’s nothing wrong with our little team that hard work and genuine desire won’t cure. They act like a team with 20 weeks of practice left, instead of just six days. “I thought Luther Hall was the best boy on the field.” Letters (Continued from Page 2) it out is false. I think that the stu dents who quit have their share of guts. Some of them have very fine reasons for quitting. Some of the non-regs failed to join the corps be cause of personal reasons. I don’t care who the student is, you cannot point to him and say, “He quit the corps; he hasn’t any guts.” When the time comes, he may prove to have twice as much “guts” as you. With this final thought, I will close; If the corps was made optional to entice a large enroll ment to A&M and if the slander of some of the corps students keeps the civilian population down, what will be the outcome ? I hope that I have not offended anyone in this letter. Boyd Wachel Class of ’58 The Church...For a Fuller Life...For You... Of course her parents wouldn’t dream of let ting her try those stairs alone until they had taken every precaution to teach her how to manage them carefully and safely. But re gardless of precautions, sooner or later she has to run the risk of trying them on her own. Every adventure in growing up has its ele ment of danger, and wise parents are very careful to see that the child shall be trained to meet these dangers with the least risk to her physical health. But what about the far greater risk to this child’s moral and spiritual health when she has to face the really big perils of life on her own? When not a broken bone or two but her character is at stake—what then? The Church will give your child—and help you give your child—the care and training she needs for meeting life’s greatest risks safely and triumphantly. THE CHURCH FOR ALL . ALL FOR THE CHURCH The Church is the greatest fac tor on earth for the building of character and good citizenship. It is a storehouse of spiritual values. Without a strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive There are four sound reasons why every person should attend services regularly and sup port the Church. They are. (1) For his own sake. (2) For his children s sake. (3) For the sake of his community and nation. (4; For the sake of the Church itself, which needs Kis moral and ma terial support. Plan to go to church regularly and read your Bible daily. Book Chapter Verses Sunday .. Matthew Monday. . Luke Tuesday Luke Wednesd’y Luke Thursday Romans Friday ... I Corinthians Saturday..
