Ag Baseballers Stage First Practice Game Aggie baseballers hustled through their first intrasquad game yesterday on a wet and chilly Kyle field. The two teams wound up the afternoon in a 3-3 deadlock. Sophomore third baseman Billy Ross smashed a homerun over the left field wall in the seventh in ning of the contest with Louis Nelson on base, the longest hit of the afternoon. Pitchers for the afternoon were Doug Mullins, Elo Zatopek and Tex Vanzura. “We’ve got the best team in the league,” said Jimmy Williams, all- Southwest conference catcher last season, “and if we hit, we’ll win this year.” Coach R. C. (Beau) Bell has nine returning lettermen from last year’s fourth place SWC team, plus some promising sophomores. The Aggies open the season here against Sam Houston State next Wednesday. H. L.
