Battalion Editorials Page 6 THE BATTALION WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15, 1954 Remember the Safety Edition Far From Home For the Holidays This weekend, all the A&M students will be leaving for home and the holidays — or almost all of them. Left on the campus—a dreary place dur ing the Christmas holidays—will be most of A&M’s foreign students, this country’s guests. They of course are too far from their home to even think about going there for the holidays, and most of them know few people in Texas. They would appreciate a b ome life during the holidays, and College Station and Bryan residents can help provide that. A day in an American home would be welcomed by these students, and the family that took one in would find him a fascina ting person—he would provide a new insight to our life and his ife. J. Gordon Gay, secretary of the YMCA, has generously consented to be a sort of a clearing house for any one who would like to invite a foreign student to their house. He said that if the local people would call his home phone, 4-4584, sometime before Dec. 26, he would make the arrangements with the foreign students. Here is a chance to make Christmas a little happier for some friends of ours, and to make your own Christmas a little happier too.
