Delley, lost only one game dur ing the regular season. easy 85-63 win over A&M in the season opener for both teams. Boldebuck sat out about half of the last 20 minutes and still scored 24 points and garnered 26 re bounds. About 4,000 fans watched the two teams inaugurate the G. Rollie White coliseum. The scrapping Cadets moved the ball well at times in their deliber ate style of offense, but couldn’t cope with the seasoned Cougars’ scoring punch and Boldebuck. Houston out-rebounded the Ag gies, 75-41, with Boldebuck getting- 20 in the first half, when he scored 15 points. Guard Roger Harvey, a 5-11 soph, scored 19 points to lead the Aggies and was more than equal to any of Houston’s more exper ienced and taller floor men. Forward Bill Brophy counted 13 points for the Cadets and had 10 rebounds, high for the team. Ag gie co-captain John Fortenberry and Houston forward Jim Hatton each had 12 points. A&M made good on 17 of 53 for 32 per cent. Houston, moving the ball sharp ly as it broke Boldebuck loose un der the basket, rushed to a 39-24 lead at the half. The Cougars kept adding to their margin in the sec ond half and led 77-49 with about three minutes left to play. Then the Aggies scored 14 points to Houston’s eight to make the score a little more respectable. Starting four senior lettermen with Boldebuck, Houston went in to a 7-0 lead in the first two and a half minutes. Guard Lupe Lopez started the scoring, sinking a free shot after he was fouled by Brophy. Hatton made a push shot and two free throws and Boldebuck tipped one in. Then A&M pulled up to 12-17 this way—Forward Don Bilbrey sank three points after Mehaffey’s free toss, Fortenberry made a jump shot, forward Bob Gattis layed one in, and Harvey made four free shots. The two teams then traded points until about the last five minutes of the half. With the score 22-27, the Cougars flashed up 12 straight points while hold ing A&M scoreless. Guard Roger Harvey Tigers Fall Twice To Somerville A&M Consolidated lost a basket ball doubleheader in Somerville last night dropping the A game 38-43 in overtime and the B game 15-24. Forwards Norman Floeck and Manuel Garcia each scored 12 points to lead the Tiger varsity. Somerville Guard Ken Lewis sank 17 for high point honors. CHS scored four points in the final two minutes to tie the score 32-32 at the end of regular time. The Yeguas scored 11 points in the three-minute overtime period to the Tigers’ six. Consolidated plays Caldwell here tonight at the Tiger gym in an other doubleheader. The B game Handball Meeting A&M’s handball club will meet at 5 p. m. Tuesday to discuss plans for sending four members to the National Intercollegiate tourney in Chicago Dec. 27-30. The meet ing will be held in the office of H. B. Segrest in DeWare field house. starts at 7 p. m. The Tiger B team also plays an afternoon game, meeting Spring at 3 p. m. in the Tomball Invitational tournament. Last night, the B team trailed 5-16 at the half, then out scored Somerville 10-8 in the final half. Ag Fencers Enter Austin Meet The Aggie fencing team will en ter an Amateur Fencing League of America meet in Austin this weekend. Meets with Navy and the Uni versity of Texas are scheduled for after the Christmas holidays, but no definite dates have been set. The team also will give an exhi bition at TSCW in January. Any freshman or sophomore who wants to try out for the team should report to DeWare field house any afternoon at 5 p.m., said cocaptain Bill Huettel.
