Norman Anderson, pas tor of the A&M Presbyterian church has announced that he and three other College Station men, Herbert Shaffer, Dick Adams and L. G. Jones, will attend the South ern Presbyterian Men’s convention in New Orleans Oct. 15-17. Choir practice is scheduled for the A&M Presbyterian church Wednesday 7 p.m. Presbyterian student group will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday, and Mur ray Milford will direct the devo tional. Faith Evangelical and Reformed church’s choir practice will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Weekday mass is held each morn ing at 6:45 at St. Mary’s Catholic chapel. Wednesday evening serv ice is at 7:15. Cliff Harris, director of the Bap tist Student union, asked that those interested in attending the state BSU convention at the First Bap tist church in Abilene Friday night through Sunday contact him at the BSU. Vespers will be held tonight, Thursday night and Friday night at 7 at the student union. Wednesday prayer meeting at the Church of Christ will be at 7:15 p.m. Mrs. J. J. Horn will speak on the development of family spiritual life Thursday morning over WTAW. The Methodist women are in charge of the Council of Church Women’s programs this month. Choir practice of A&M Methodist church will be Wednesday night at 7:30. The Rev. and Mrs. Wayman Da vis, Austin, are holding revival services at the Church of the Naz- arene each night this week at 7:30. —o— Choir practice at the A&M Chris tian church will be at 7 p.m. Thurs day this week instead of Wednes day. The men of the church will meet Wednesday night at 7, and the Bible study group will meet at 7:15 p.m. Prayer meeting will be at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the College Heights Assembly of God church. •—o— Mrs. R. O. Berry will be in charge of Bible study Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the First Baptist church. Workers’ supper will be at 6 p.m., teachers’ meeting at 6:15, and prayer meeting at 7:15 Wed nesday. Joe Blair and Paul Mason will tell of their experiences with the Youth Caravan teams at the Wes ley foundation meeting Wednesday night at 7:15. Speaker for the Wednesday night Canterbury association meeting at 7:15 will be G. C. Burton, special agent in charge of the Federal Bu reau of Investigation in Houston. Holy Communion and breakfast will be at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. College organization of the Christian Science society meets Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. —o— Meeting of the Aggie Walther club of the Bethel Lutheran church will be at the MSC Wednesday at 7 p.m. Church council meeting is Thursday 7:30 p.m. Brotherhood of Our Savior’s Lutheran church meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. Lutheran Student asso ciation meets Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. —o— Hillel club meets Wednesday night 7:30 at the MSC, room 2-C. Ed Wulfe, Fred Ablon, Arnold Goldstein, and Sandy Schrider will report on activities at B’Nai Brith summer camp. Reception-Open House To Be Held Tonight Reception for teachers and open house will be held tonight at the A&M Consolidated high school building. Beginning at 7:30 p.m. and last ing until 9, the open house will offer an opportunity for visitors to inspect the new building and its facilities, which have been in use for two weeks. Arrangements committee of the Mothers and Dads club, sponsors of the affair, was headed by Mrs. Carl Landiss. Assisting her were Mrs. Joe Davis, Mrs. Tyrus R. Timm, Mrs. Armstrong Price, Mrs. Marion Pugh and Mrs. Fred Far rar. Guests will be received by J. Wheeler Barger, president of the club; C. A. Bonnen, chairman of the Board of Trustees; and Dr Dames Club Tea Opens Social Season For Wives As the traditional beginning of the social year of the Dames club of A&M, a tea for all Aggie wives will be held tonight in the south solarium of the YMCA. The come-and-go affair will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. Serving will be past President Bobbye Reich, and the sponsors of the club, Mrs. Harvey Kennedy and Mrs. George Carter. Pat Hen derson will preside at the register. Officers of the club are Dorothy Brown, president; Olga Cech, vice- president; Louise Longenecker, secretary; Marge Parlsey, treasur er; Mrs. Henderson, social chair man; and Virginia Ridings, porter. Les Richardson, superintendent of schools. Teachers will be grouped into three receiving lines. Mrs. W. B. Harris, grade school vice-presi dent of the Mothers and Dads club and Mrs, H. S. Creswell, principal of the elementary school, will head the grade school line. Mrs. Eu gene Rush, junior high vice-presi dent of the club, and Taylor Rie del, principal of the junior high school, will greet guests in the jun ior high line. Mrs. John McCan- non, senior high vice-president of the club, and J. J. Skrivanek, principal of the high school, will be at the head of the high school line. Grade mothers for high school classes will conduct visitors through various rooms. Maj. Er nest C. Wright, treasurer, will take dues for the club. Mrs. Raymond V. Hite will take orders for Christ mas cards, and Mrs. R. R. Lancas ter will take subscriptions to mag azines. Harris Elected Don Harris was elected pres ident of the El Paso hometown club recently. Other officers are Bob Boone, vice-president; Mike Bidal, secretary - treasurer; Bill Abraham, social chairman, and Rod Cardon, sergeant-at-arms.
