Job Calls Increase
Over Past Years
There have been more job calls
this year than in the past, but in
terviewers are more selective, said
W. R. Horsley, placement director.
The job situation looks bright for
majors in chemistry, engineering,
physics, electronics, accounting,
and business, Horsley said.
“Although interviewers have be
come more selective in different
fields, the same amount of students
have been hired this year as com
pared to the last few years,” he
said.
Some companies have found they
could train personnel already em
ployed for new jobs within the
company instead of hiring college
graduates, while many companies
have found they can use college
graduates where they couldn’t be
fore, he added.
A typical man’s brain weighs
about 50 ounces.
