More Than 200 Sign For Swim Instructions The swimming program sponsor ed by the College Station Recrea tion Council got underway here with more than 200 registered for classes of Art Adamson, Aggie swimming coach. Classes will be conducted for beginners, intermediates and ad vanced swimmers. In addition to the classes sponsored by the Coun cil, there will be a class for wo men on Wednesdays and Thurs days and for business girls on Mondays and Wednesdays. The College Station swimming team will have a busy summer. Besides the College Station meet July 10-12, the team will take part in the Crystal Pool meet at Hous ton, the Texas AAF meet at Ty ler, the Gulf AAU meet at Hous ton, the Gold Crest Meet at Hous ton, the Junior Olympics and the Junior Nationals, and several oth er meets. The swimming classes will be repeated the last half of the sum mer. Features of the program the second teivn will be classes in diving and life saving. A record wheat crop in Kansas contributed to a small increase in land values in that state. And values continued to hold firm or slightly higher in Tennes see, Alabama, and Mississippi, partly because of demand for small farms by persons employed in local industries. Sales of farm land in all re gions of the country dropped dur ing 1952 and the first part of this year. The decline was sharpest in the west north-central and west south-central regions, where the volume of sales averaged about 15 per cent below the previous year, the .bureau reported. Farmers Meet With Business To Map Needs Littlefield, —05>>— This South Plains city brings farmers and businessmen together once a year to tell each other their troubles. “No longer can one group live by itself,” Lamb County Judge Otho Dent told Littlefield’s Second Annual Agriculture and Business Forum, “We must work together and understand each other..s prob lems.” Seventy-five persons attended this year’s meeting. % John McHaney, assistant exten sion economist of the A&M College extension service cited what he called reasons the two groups need to understand each other better.
