Insides of the Chemistry Lec- tui'e loom and of seven dormi tories were painted, as wexo the outsides of the Petxoleum Engi neering building, the Cottonseed Products Research Laboratory and 59 student apartment Rouses in College View. Currently being remodeled and redecorated are the System Ad ministration building and the Aca demic building. In other pax-ts of the System, accumulations of scx-ap metal were sold for a total of $2,413.18. Arlington State Repairs All buildings at Arlington State College were thoi-oughly cleaned, had minor repairs made and wood en structures painted. Grass and weed ai’eas were mov ed, shrubbery and trees ti'immed, and material stoi'ed outside was moved into warehouses which were cleared of useless collections, some ^ dating back 39 yeai's or more. The x'egistrar’s office alone dis posed of mpi’e than a ton of out dated catalogs and recoxds. Material which required outside stoi’age was placed above-ground to allow for regular mowing and raking. B, and AAA counted 2-1 horseshoes wins yesterday. J. H. Cook and K. Wright and Ed Stinnett and Andi-cw Beaky were the combinations that gave Co. E a win over Sq. 21. J. E. Bx'yant and L. D. Monical and C. S. Parker and T. P. Toudourf scored Co. B’s win over Co. A AAA’s winners were Forrest Sim mons and Tom Ratcliff and Bill Dark and Holice Marshall. Frame View President E. B. Evans estimated that about 30 per cent of his organization’s total record-filing space was fi’eed from useless collections after more than six tons of outdated x’ecoi’ds and papers were buimed. Tarleton State College added to the System total for scrap metal sales and in addition auctioned off $161.85 worth of worn-out and discarded furniture. Jetqxs Reitre d The Texas' Forest' Service re tired 23 jeeps, of which 19 wex-e sold and four were salvaged for spare parts. Collections of old tires, batteries and scrap metal swelled the System total by $357.58. Headquarters grounds and 80 look-out tower sites were clean ed. All 27 field units of the Agricul tural Experiment Station coopei’- ated in the System-wide didve and several thousands’ of dollars worth of equipment was exchanged with in pails of that organization alone. Thousands of aci’es of land in the sub-stations was improved in appearance and usefulness during the drive. Completion of the clean-up drive dui-ing the recent drouth will show to even better advantages since most ai’eas of the state are now re ceiving rain, and plant growth is due to sprout again.
