The Jeaaie H. Jone* story is told in
the current Texas Aggie. nesrs(ia[ier of
the Association of Former Students The
Agg^e takes its entire edition telling the
Jones story, and it is quite a story
Headlined Jessie H. Jones Has Been
A&M’s Host Consistent Backer for Three
lieeades.' the Aggie traces Mr Jones' life
from his birth on a Tennessee tobacco
farm to bis present position of prominence
in American financial, lumbering, and
newsjiaiier circles. During the thirties,
Mr. Janes completed such governmental
positions ss Secretary of Commerce Fed
eral lioan Administrator, and Chairman of
the Reconstruction Finance Corporation.
While Mr Junes was chairman of the
RPC ASM gained a $2 000.000 loan from
the RFC in 193* for the construction of
the New Area”. Many times Mr‘Jones
has acted on behalf of the College, and
h»s efforts have been of great bgfiefit to
the College

around the eigth grade, but \ had a good

few wealthy men in this nation who gained
