The meet, which was held in Downs Natatorium, was dominated by two big city schools, Highland Park and last year’s champ, Lamar high of Houston. Hi Park garmed- ed 60 points to squeeze by the runner-up, Lamar, which had 46. Austin High School df! Austin was the third place team with 21 points. He placed tile 60 yard freestyle with 25.4 seconds and first 100 yard freesty <• with a We of 57.9 seconds. The meet was not decided uptil the last event!, the 160 yard free style relay. Up to that event, High land’ Park was leading, 42 to 35. If the Scots had not placed in that event, Lamar would have taken the meet. However, Lamar placed first and Highland Park placed second to take 10 and eight points re spectively in the event and the boys from Dallas emerged the victors. | ' J !> Lamar dominated the diving events with deven points and'High land Park was second with five. Lamar’s Bob Broadnax was eapily the outstanding diver of the meet] taking first in diving; i > Two new records were set; in theneis^ both being in new events. Bob Timmins of Highland Park swam the 200 yard freestyle in 2:12.0 and A1 Kilgore of Stephen F. Austin swam the 100 yard free style in 57.9.
