Coach Anderson’s crew will be out to defend the crown they took last year when they won the 1600 meter relay race with a time of 3fll. Another Southwest Conference team will also make Jjie trip, and that team has been the Aggies’ - chief competition this year. This team was the victor in the only race that the Aggie foursome has entered and not won this year. Rice Institute won the Drake Relays with a time of 3:16.5 after the Cadets had not qualified in the preliminaries after they dropped the baton in thg first lap of the race. Coach Anderson doubts that any team from a*'school located east .1 of jthe Mississippi will be at the Reljays. Ohio State was rated to havje a very fast team with some of the leajding quarter milers in the! country. The Buckeyes failed to Qualify jin the Penn Relays ear lier in the year. Blans for the team called for thebi to go to Dallas by car and thej*e to catch a plane for the West Co4st. All expenses are paid ;l|y the melt. No other Aggies wejre in vited to the {Relays despite the record breaking they did at the conference meet. ) The Coliseum Relays are a sup plement to a high school meet he}d in [Los Angeles and very large crowds usually attend the faces. Lasjt year 60,000 people were on hand when the Aggies beat the quartet from the Los Aiigeles Athletic Club and Ohio StaUf. SPALDING H0S1$ MV 1 9366® SOdr/ GO Pick it OUT ■■ OTTN' n.
