NORTH TEXAS HAS
ANNIVERSARY TODAY
DENTONv Tex., March 31 —W>)
There won’t be much studying at
North Texas State College today
.... they’re going to celebrate.
The occasion will be the college’s
60th anniversary as a state school.
In these 60 years it has grown
from a small privately operated
school to one of Texas’ biggest
colleges. ! >
Ex-students and others are ex
pected to jam the campus for the
occasion. ,
Established through community
effort as a privately owned normal
college in 1890, the school was
first named the Texas Normal Col
lege.
In 1899 the city of Denton off
ered thei building and grounds to
the state to establish the State
Normal College. This donation was
accepted in a bill signed by Gov.
Joseph D. Sayers on March 31,
1899.

Teague’s war record won him
three silver stars, two bronze stars

Teague got a reserve commis

He is married and has a young

Teague is the former Freddie

Although he has to use an es
