As money ran short, he got a job. . He Set up

He managed a little romance by managing the

When he traveled with the howling and baseball
teams, Telfer could have disappeared. But life Vas
loo good in the Navy, Telfer-style. H
There was only one hitch, Telfer had no jdentit
fication caul for “Johnson,” so he ct
liberty card to get off the island, exci |
teams going to games by bus.
In two year# Telfer became an o d resident of
the base. He began to make friends He couldn't
