Dr. and Mrs. Yarnell have three sons: Jim, a student in architecture at Cornell; Dick, a student in geology at A&M; and Pete, a student in Lamar Junior High School at Bryan. He holds membership in the fol lowing research and scientific soc ieties: American Society of Natu ralists; Botanical Society of Am erica; Genetics Society of Ameri ca; American Society for Horti cultural Science; and the Associa tion for the Advancement of Science. In 1930, Dr. Yarnell was listed in American Men of Science as a research horticulturist. He was educated at Michigan State College, where he received his B. S. degree in 1922; did grad uate work at Cornell from 1925 through 1926; completed his Mas ter of Science degree at Harvard in 1929; and was awarded his doc tors degree at Harvard in 1930. He was assistant at the Bussey in stitution at Harvard from 1926- 1930. He is a veteran of World War I and has been a member of the Rotary Club of Bryan. Tickets for Brazos Barbecue Monday Still Available Ticket sales for the Brazos County A. & M. Club’s annual spring barbecue and banquet Monday evening have been go ing well, according to William Carmichael, chairman of the ticket sales committee. Given in honor of Aggie ath letes in spring sports, the bar becue will begin at 7 p.m. at the Bryan Country Club. At that time, lettermen in baseball, track, tennis, golf, pistol, and rifle will be announced and a- warded letters. . Immediately following, the outstanding athlete for the cur rent school year will be named and awarded the Jack Dempsey Adam Hat trophy. the A&M Dairy Cattle Judging Teams. Prizes were awarded both on the basis of showmanship and individuality of the animals. Senate Group Approves Two A&M Experiment Stations Two bills were recommended for passage by the Texas Senate Com mittee on State Affairs this week. One of the measures would em power A&M to establish and main tain an experiment station in the High Plains region.
