Hackett will be the principal feature at the meet ing of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers slated for to morrow night at 7:30. The subject of the speech, to be made in the E. E. Lecture Room, is “The Sign of Reactive Power”. Proposals are before the nation al AIEE, it was said, to change the now common direction of elec trical current flow. This wilj be the topic to be discussed at the meeting. All interested are urged to attend this lecture. HOUSTON AGGIES READY DATE LIST FOR DANCE A date list will be available for selection of dates for the Aggie- Tessie dance at the meeting of the Houston Club tonight at 7:15 in Room 129 Academic building. Barto Arnold to dance to the mu sic of G'eorge Abrams and his or chestra on December 23, as guests of the San Antonio A. & M. Moth ers’ club. The informal dance will be held at Bolivar Hall (La Villi- ta) from 8 ’til 12. Mrs. Arnold, who is entertainment chairman of the club, has sent invitations to the homes of all the students, and stressed that the invitations must be presented at the door to pre vent the attendance of outsiders. Aggie spirit is raging high on the home front, and at a recent tea, the “fish” mothers were on the receiving end of the ole board, related Mrs. Arnold. Sparking the club is Mrs. R. M. Kothmann, pres ident. . ARCHITECTS CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS TONIGHT Architecture students, their wives and their dates will hold a Christmas party in the Assembly Hall tonight. The program which begins at 7:30 will include enter tainment and refreshments. Those who attend are asked to bring a gift costing up to twenty-five cents. Hort Show— TEXAS FULL of oranges and grapefruit was the centerpiece for the Horticulture Show, held on the campus December 10-11. James D. Storey, member of the club, stands beside the citrus Lone Star State. HI-Y MEETS AND PLANS STEAK FRY AFTER XMAS The Hi-Y Club met at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night in the Assembly room of the YMCA. The program consisted of a trio of Bryan girls who sang “Stardust”, Night and D a y”, “The Desert Song” “Dreams”, and “Every Time”, and two monologues by Joan Todd. A motion to invite all Junior and Senior girls from Bryan and A.&M. Consolidated High Schools to a steak fry to be held shortly after the Christmas holidays car ried unanimously. In order to conserve utilities and protect student property, all dormitories except Walton, Hart, and Dormitory 14, will be closed and locked at 5:00 P.M., Saturday, December 21, 1946. 2. Students other than those living in Walton, Hart, and Dormitory 14, who wish to remain on the campus during the Christmas holidays will contact students in Dormitory 14 who will not remain during the holidays, concerning the use of their rooms. To secure rooms, students will bring a note of permission from the occupants of Dormitory 14 to Room 100 Goodwin Hall where each student will sign a ros ter showing his location for the holidays. 3. If any student finds it necessary to gain entrance to a dormitory which is closed for the holidays he will check at Room 100 Goodwin Hall for clearance. 4. Organizatioan Commanders and Housemasters should urge first floor oc cupants to lock windows of their respec tive rooms for security purposes. 5. The dormitories will be unlocked at 1:00 P. M., Wednesday, January 1, 1947. 6. The cafeteria in Sbisa Hall will be open for students who remain on the campus, beginning Sunday morning, De cember 22, and will remain open through Wednesday night, January 1, 1947.
