Kernodle was elected chairman of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society at a reorganization meeting of the group held in the Chemistry building Wednesday night. McAtee, vice-chairman; Official Notices Each candidate for the Master of Science degree who expects to complete the re quirements for his degree in the current semester should present to the Dean of the Graduate School his completed thesis, ap proved by the head of his major depart ment, on or before April 30, 1946. Films en titled, “The Heritage We Guard”, “Wildlife of South Texas,” and a wildlife cartoon will be presented by E. T. Dawson, game supervisor for the Texas Games, Fish & Oys ter Commission. Another film en titled “Big Bend National Park” will be shown through courtesy of the National Park Service. Anyone interested in wildlife is invited to attend. F. E. Lamb, secretary-treasurer; Dr. F. W. Jensen, faculty sponsor. A new constitution is being drawn u£ for presentation to the group at its next meeting, date of which will be announced in the Battalion. In its schedule of activities, the group plans to have talks by visit ing • speakers and by local profes sors. Plans are being made for members to take an active interest in the Senior section of the Amer ican Chemical Society. Anyone interested in joining the group should see Dr. Jensen, Room 6, Chemistry Building, or attend the next meeting. CONS. HOMEMAKERS TO SERVE SUNDAY DINNER The future homemakers of A. & M. AERO RADIO PROGRAM GETS 5 MORE WEEKS Because air-minded Young Amer icans—especially such folks as A. & M.’s Aero majors—have taken such an interest in the radio pro gram “World’s Most Honored Flights,” the series has been ex tended for five additional weeks, according to announcement by the sponsor, the Longines-Wittnauer Watch Co. Capt. Eddie Rickenback- er is host on the program, which is a Sunday afternoon feature on KTRH. Steamships operating out of Houston carry cargo to 30 coun tries. Many veterans, older than the ordinary college student, are now returning to school and wish to complete their scheduled education in order to satisfactorily compete with the younger man having no such handicap as the returning vet eran, whose education was positve- ly curtailed. 5. Many students, if they cannot take a full semester’s work this summer, will not desire to go to school. This means giving up their present living quarters, and leaves them faced with an employment problem this summer. This parti cularly affects the married vete ran. 6. Veterans who are returning this summer will be getting a much later start than the ones already enrolled in school. Aren’t they en titled to the accelerated program? 7. Under the two six weeks plan, both theory and lab. classes meet three times as often as they do now, and theory classes will last one hour and 20 minutes. This will be an additional strain on teacher’s and student’s efficiency. 8. It was decided last fall to have a two six weeks semester term this year.
