The letter which accompanies the grades this time contains a state ment of the policy of the college along with a statement from the Cadet Colonel and his executive officer, the-two highest ranking cadet officers in the Corps. On the back of the letter is a complete explanation of the grad ing system. There are three sample report cards and each has a rep resentative grade. The method of determining grade points which are based on hours of college cred it as well as grades is also ex plained. The policy of the cadet officers as stated in the letter is to “aim not only at an education that will prepare a student for making a living, but also at those things which contribute toward the enjoy ment of that living.’! —CHURCH— (Continued From Page 1) tions. According to a report as of six weeks ago, there is $120,000 in the fund at present. Since the church in Fort Worth has no pastor, the men’s group did not want to make a definit contri bution until fall when the church organization would be functioning normally again. However, Rever end Anderson said the members were very enthusiastic over the fund. Next Sunday Reverend Anderson will be in Shreveport to participate in the 30th birthday of his first pastorate. There will be a beach party Saturday night and he will give the sermon Sunday morning. He preached there during the sum mer between his first and second years in the seminary. The proposed church will cost $90,000, $75,000 coming from the building fund and $15,000 from the church here. The church will be erected on the site of the present manse, which is now being used for the elementary departments of the Sunday school. In securing funds for the pro gram, Reverend Anderson has vis ited churches in Galveston, Beau mont, Shreveport, Marlin, Austin, and Dallas in addition to Fort Worth. Within 30 years after Columbus’ landing in America, the entire east coast of America from Greenland to Cape Horn was explored, and the globe was circumnavigated. Harold J. Robert son, who is a Lightning fighter* pilot with the 13th Army Air Fight er Commands White Knights squadron, has just been promoted ~ from second to first lieutenant. His home is in San Diego, Calfior- nia, and he graduated from A. & M. in 1942. Private William T. Davis, class of 1945, is with a reconnaissance company which paced the Fifth Army’s advance in Italy to Leg horn. Sixty percent of the out-T fit have been decorated with either the Order of the Purple Heart or the Silver Heart. Corporal Leo Tatum of Com fort, Texas, has been overseas with a veteran 15th Air Force Heavy Bombardment squadron for , 16 months. His job is part of the mess of detailed planning which goes into every mission the B-24’s. He wears' the Distinguished Unit^ Badge which this squadron re ceived for the low-level bombing ' attack on the Ploesti oil fields last August 1. After graduating from Dublin High School, he at tended A. & M. and received his degree of Bachelor of Science in 1940.
