It was re quested jnany more times than any other recording. This had al ready been ordered since it was a replacement. Dimitri Shostakovich, a modern composer, was recommended a number of times. He has been wide ly acclaimed by critics here and abroad. A whole section was de voted to his work in a recent issue of “Life”. The works most re quested were his symphonies. Some other composers asked for were Rimsky-Korsakov, Strauss, Wagner, Beethoven, and Bomberg. The waltzes of Johann Strauss were very much in demand.
