Commandants Office CIRCULAR NO. 2: 1. The attention of all cadets is invited to Paragraph 5 f), Section III, College Regulations, which states “articles of civilian clothing and of the uniform will not be worn together.” Only tan leather jackets, olive drab cloth jackets, trench coats ,and tan or olive green slickers will be authorized for wear as outer garments. Sweaters will not be worn unless worn under the shirt. 2. The wire will not be removed from the crown of the cap. 3. Those cadets who desire to study before breakfast are authorized to turn their lights on not to exceed one hour before 1st call. Cadets are reminded that BALL PLAYING is not permitted adjacent to dormitories or in parking lots near dormi tories. 2. Uniform Regulations. 1. a. The prescribed uniform for Cadet Officers will be: Shirt, cotton, khaki Necktie, cotton, khaki Trousers, cotton, khaki Cap, garrison (officer’s braid) Service cap with stiffener may be worn while not in formation Campaign hat, optional, for wear dur ing inclement weather Shoes, tan Socks, tan b. Tropical worsted shirts and trousers may be worn in lieu of cotton. Mixture of cotton and tropical worsted is NOT au thorized. c. The summer coat is authorized for optional wear. d. White summer uniforms may be worn after retreat for social affairs, but are not required. 2. a. The prescribed uniform for ca dets other than Cadet Officers: Shirt, cotton, khaki (with or without shoulder loops) Necktie, cotton, khaki Trousers, cotton, khaki Cap, garrison (over-seas) with black braid Cap, garrison, WITHOUT braid will be worn by cadets who are not taking R.O.T C. instruction. Cap, service WITH stiffener may be worn off duty while not in forma tion Campaign hat, optional, for wear during inclement weather Shoes, tan Socks, tan b. Tropical worsted shirts and trousers may be worn in lieu of cotton by classi fied Juniors. Mixture of cotton and tropi cal worsted is NOT authorized. 3. a. Lab. Uniform. b. Coveralls or the prescribed uniform WITHOUT necktie and WITHOUT collar ornaments v/ill be worn in laboratories. c. Shirt sleeves will not be rolled, cuffs must be buttoned when outside of labora tory. d. The garrison cap will be worn with laboratory uniform. e. The vet. lab. and clinic white jacket with pants may be worn in lieu of the regulation fatigue uniform. Cadets wear ing this uniform will go by the nearest route to and from their vet. labs, and this uniform will not be worn at other times or in other buildings on the campus. 4. a. Waiter’s uniform (Mess Hall and Aggieland Inn) b. Those students employed as waiters in the mess hall and Aggieland Inn are authorized to wear a high neck undershirt under their waiter’s jacket in lieu of the regulation uniform shirt and tie. The reg ulation mess hall short sleeve shirt is also authorized. Regulation khaki slacks will be worn with the waiter’s jacket. The above wearing apparel will be worn ONLY from the student’s room to the mess hall, while in the mess hall, and from the mess hall back to their respective rooms by the nearest route. Both shirt and jacket will be buttoned at all times. c. The cap will not be worn with the waiter’s uniform. S’, a Athletic Uniform. b. Only regulation trunks and under shirts, consisting of blue or khaki trunks, white undershirt or grey and white “T” shirts, with the undershirt tucked into the trunks will be authorized for play, intramural games, and physical education classes. Any type of shoes may be worn. c. Regulation baseball caps may be worn with the athletic uniform. Other types of caps or hats will NOT be worn. 6. a. Non-military students. b. The prescribed uniform for non-mili tary students with a civilian clothes per mit will be: Shirt, any color Necktie, any color Trousers, any color other than uniform trousers Shoes, any color Socks, any color Hat, optional c. Khaki shirt and khaki trousers with civilian tie may be worn. d. Students with civilian clothes permits caught in uniform will be considered non- reg. e. Students with civilian clothes permits caught without the permit on their person will be considered non-reg. f. Students with civilian clothes permits will wear the athletic uniform prescribed for cadets while participating in athletic or physical training. By order of the Commandant: JOE E. Cadets will not change from one room to another until the following procedure has been approved by all concerned: a. Cadets will first make application for a room change with their respective cadet company commander. Those new students who have transferred to A. and M. with advanced standing and who have not signed up for the course are requested to do so by calling at the Office of the Dean of Engineering before Tuesday, June" 13.
