The provisions of the Constitution are (1) that the members always uphold the tra ditions of the old home county; (2) that they always remain true to the charter members of the compact and (3) that they never go out on a date without a chaperone—unless, of course, it is with a boy from the home county. What a compact. It will take two years to find what it is all about. Charter members who received the solemn ceremony were: Misses Lucille Ney, Kitty Belle Ney and Dorothy Darby; and Messrs. T. C. Roberts, C. E. Johnson and this lowly scribe. L’ENVOI. BANQUET GIVEN SENIOR CLASS Dr. T. O. Walton honored the senior class with the first, of a series of three or four banquets last Thus- day night in the banquet room of Sbisa Hall. The purpose of the get-together was to bring the senior class in closer contact with the ex ecutives of the college so that they might be in a better position to carry on the work of the past seniors. W. E. Morgan presided in the ab sence of President Ralph Howe and introduced Dr. Walton as the first speaker, who gave a short address urging the Class of ’30 to cooperate with him in making this year the greatest in the history of the Col lege. “Not only in number,” he said, “but in our scholastic standing as well.” He emphasized the great re sponsibility of the seniors on a corps trip to maintain order of the under classmen, as well as themselves, and to see that the new equipment in the dormitories is not misused. There was no program planned, but Colonel Chas. J. Nelson, Dean Charles Puryear, Dean F. C. Bolton, Major J. E. Sloan, J. E. Mitchell, and “Hop” Reynolds, gave short talks ex pressing their willingness to cooper ate with the seniors on any problem which might arise. A. A.
