This did not vitally interest many of the seniors, but there <is a question concerning the rings j still be shown as usual. Owing to the change in that is causing- considerable comment among seniors at present. That is the question of underclassmen receiving and wearing the senior ring before their registration as seniors. Here-to- fore there have been only a few trans gressors, having received theirs by special order through Bryan agents, but this year the junior class has con tracted to have their senior rings de livered before the end of the current j term. We do not believe that the jun- j iors thought this over when they made the schedule of the pic- tui-es, and to save the students from going to Bryan to see a show that will later be shown here, and allow him to select the shows that will not be shown at College, the schedule for the rest of the term is published. March 2, “Beverly of Graustark.” March 5, “Merry Widow.” March 0, “Brown of Harvard.” March 12, “Bright Lights.” March 16, “Mare Nostrum.” March 19, “Lights of Old Broad- the contract, but nevertheless it has way.” been made and it is being highly re sented by a majority of the seniors. If the ring is to remain a SENIOR RING it should not be delivered until the student registers for his fourth year in the institution. But if it is the desire of the entire student body to March 22, “The Unholy Three.” March 26, “The Waning Sex.” March 30, “Tell it to the Marines.” April 2, “Tin Hats.” April 6, “Torrent.” April 9, “The Road to Mandelay.” April 13, “Bardeleys the Magnifi- make the ring a school ring and take cant.’ away another mark of seniority at this institution, then let us keep quiet and allow the sophomores and fresh men classes to get their order in now as well as the juniors. * * * Contrary to general opinion, the “Powers that be” are not altogether ! April 14, “Johnny Get a Hair Ctu.” April 15, “War Paint.” April 16, “Devil’s Circus.” April 20, “The Gay Deceiver.” April 23, “There You Are.” April 27, “Monte Carlo.” April 30, “Battling Butler.” This schedule should be saved for to blame for the fact that this is not future reference, as the show that is the best school in the world. (Pardon us, Jake), We have, among the un dergraduates, several mildly amusing and rather amusing types. First there is the type that has let athletics affect the natural function ing of an already weak mind. They somehow manage to find a complete set of the most disreputable clothes possible, usually supplemented by a peaked-crown hat, with perhaps the aid of a sweater, and are prone to consider these things as a positive grant of privilege to segregate them selves from all but their kind; speak ing seldom, and then with a grudge unless there is a motive other than ordinary decency. The only thing to be regretted is the fact that the great majority of the athletes, who are of a very likeable sort, often fall in this classification, due to hasty judgment. Certainly, the loss of this association is negligible unless, perhaps one is studying the psychology of the moron. Next there are the politicians who, like a certain line of English Kings, assume all offices theirs by Divine right. In most cases it is by right of the fact that the largest organiza tion on the campus votes as a herd of sheep, and often for one of its dusky members. This right is Divine- as an example of mob thinking. These Honorable Gentlemen have on tap all the latest gossip from Casey’s, much “inside dope,” several stupendous plans, and usually a plug of Brown Mule. And then there are those who con sider Bryan recognition as a thing for competition rather than amuse ment. These boys work themselves into a “large heat” over who dances with whom, and who brought her. They are practically harmless, but like flies, they often worry one. It seems, however, that they usually get caught by social flypaper or syrup, so again, small loss. But why be hard to please ? These are all essentially good boys, and very in Bryan Friday will not be the Sat urday show as has been the case. Many shows will be here later that would not have come if the Y was still depending upon the Bryan shows, for the film. Yes, deserving of a brace of long, hairy ears and a bale of hay, and for the better ones of the group, we suggest, in addition, several choice cobs of corn. Jj: There has been considerable trouble caused by the fact that our dances are never announced until the last minute. Is there any feasible reason why the corps should be kept in the dark as to the dance dates ? I won der how many of us knew that last Saturday night was to feature the opening dance so much talked of and contemplated, wherein there was to be an abundance of refreshments. Evi dently there were only a few who did, judging from the number of girls that were there. Even the dances at Riverside are better advertised than our own. I’d like to offer the sug gestion that our social secretary use the Battalion as one means of in formation and a few plain cards at the several entrances of the mess hall as another. We’d all like to know when to secure dates for the dances. Located in New Casey-Sparks Bldg. First Class Workmen and All Work Guaranteed.
