The present indications are that the total enrollment will be slightly over seventeen hundred Approximately 140 students resigned at the half way station, and 400 more had still to register Monday after noon, when the latest estimates were received. 5* * * Homer Sheffield of Crosby, Harris County and I. J. Announcement of the names has just been made here by Sterling C. Evans, state boys club leader of the A. & M. Extension service. Every state in the union will be represented by two boys and two girls at the conference. Selection of these parties is based on their records in the farm clubs. The Farmers Short Course held here each summer is the scene of the statewide meet of these farm clubs. * * ❖ The dedication dance for the Mess Hall Annex is to be called Off be cause the contractors failed to finish it in time. Probably it was for best for the floor was so slick there might have been quite a few em- barassing falls. It also left the cadets fresher for the Barnyard frolic which was certainly good enough for two. * * * Monday, Fern uary 14, otherwise known as St. Valentine’s Day; the Baylor College Glee Club will give a program sponsored by the Longhorn. From what has been seen before and with the promise of a hot program, the entertainment should satisfy any one. This program will be held in the Assembly Hall at 7:30 P. M. There will be 415 reserved seate at '/S cents with all others as general admission at 50 cents. The Senior Class will have two interesting shows here soon, the Imperial Concert Artists, a quartet of fine musicians, and Miss Irine Bewley, a reader. These shows will be the same high class that the other Senior benefit shows have been, and it is hoped that the students will give their support to the Seniors. ❖ * * The appropriations bill Tor Texas A. & M. College has been tabled by the present session of the state legis lature and will not be acted ; upon until the special session which will be called early in the summer. * * * . i. The E. E. department of this insti tution is recently in receipt of a pic ture of and the autobiography of Benjamin G. Lamme, which was sent to the institution by the Westing- house Manufacturing Companyi Mr. Lamme was for many years the chief engineer for the Westinghouse : Com pany and was serving in that capa city at the time of his death, two years ago. After his death, among his papers was found an autobiography which is said to be one of the most human and interesting documents ever. The book is in the shelves of the E. E.
