A number of young people were entertained last Friday night at an informal party given by Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Parker of Bryan, honoring their daughter Miss Kate Parker. The guests, which were composed largely of A. and M. juniors and seniors and Bryan girls, gathered at the Parker home at seven o’clock and were car ried from there in trucks to the Fin Feather Country club where a “feaSo” awaited them. Delicious pork barbe cue, weiners, sliced tomatoes, various salads, pickles, celery and many other delicacies including cold soda water, were served on the lawn in cafiteria style. After most of the boys had been in line several times and had sufficiently fortified themselves against Sunday supper the party mov ed inside and the remainder of the evening was spent in worship of Teopsichore. A feeling of informal ity reigned throughout the evening and according to our hard critics this was the best dance of the year. The Aggieland Orchestra furnished the music and probably due to their anticipation of the Dallas trip, was unusually good. Taps was sounded a few minutes before twelve, and everyone regretfully loaded into the trucks, the girls being carried to their respective homes and the cadets to college. This ended another of the brilliant evenings, for which many of us are gratefuly indebted to Mr. and Mrs. Parker. * * * Next Corps Dance Nov. 8th. Our Social Secretary wishes to an nounce that due to the absence of Ag gieland and probably a large part of the corps, on week-ends it will be impossible to have another dance be fore November 8th. A good dance is planned for that date however and he has hopes of having another the following week also. * * * Elaborate Plans Under Way for Thanksgiving Dance. Say fellow, had you stopped to think that, regardless of all of these classes, revielles, and weekend trips, Thanksgiving was fastly approaching. Well, if you have not had a thought like that, you had better stop and think, for you know that is the dav of the big game and the end of that “thousand mile walk.’ But that is not all, for after that glorious trip to Austin we have our first big dance of the year. And don’t think that it is not going to be a good one. Plans are all made and most of the arrange ments completed for the best Thanks giving Hop yet. Dates have already been made with Jack Gardenr of Dal las, and if you do not know who that is, ask someone from Dallas and that will be sufficient. So take a few minutes off and make that date and get set for there is a large time for all near at hand. Stay behind the team and make that Aus tin trip a success and then rush home and have your party. * * * Personals. Visitors on the campus this week end were: Miss Birdie Evans and Miss Gladys Compret of Taylor who were the guests of “Wrinkle” Hop kins and “Dime” Dealy. * * * Louie Clay and Jimmie Myers both of ’24 were on the campus Sunday. Visitors off the campus this week end were: Several hundred boys who went to Dallas, and Wade Guion who went to Navasota. * * * Bob Colglazier was highly enter tained by some of the Dallas “4000” during his stay in Dallas. * * Hi We failed to mention in our last issue, that we were honored with a visit from Fred Downs ’24, last week end. This omission, however was due to the fact that, because of an unex pected arrival from State U., it was uncertain as to just how long Fred would stay. * * H= There was an unusually large num ber of ex-students at the game Sat urday. Among them were several notables such as Cootie Roberts, Fred Downs, Monty Montgomery, King Gill, Tiny Keen, Jimmie Bradford and 0. C. Holekamp. * * * Ask Z. U. Park about that special from his big (fat) “mama” in San Antonio. ■>$»■*£♦■<$«■■«£♦ <£♦•>$<■ iji- -ijf •>£«. -tji- -ij, * * * DAME RUMOR * I wish that you could have been with us when Dame Rumor came hob- bleing in to give her weekly report. I tell you she sure looked “out”, we were afraid that she had been sick and had nothing to tell us. When we said something about it, she got real indignant and gave us to understand that she was always on the job, and that she had an unusual report. She said that the reason she looked so bad was on account of loss of sleep. Of course we were sorry that she had lost so much sleep because we like and must have out rest, but we did not discuss the matter for we were anx ious to hear what she had to say. Well, here is what she told us; she said that she was still undecided as to whether the Rollins coupe or the red roadster would prove the most in teresting, but that she believed that Rollins was a bit in the lead. The Rollins was out five nights last week, while the Buick was out only twice. When she told us. that we knew just why she needed so much sleep. She said that of course both parties in each case were together for a short time most every night, but that the Rollins was out until rather late for five nights last week and since there was only one dance and one show in cluded, there must have been quite a bit of barking at the moon. Dame said that she did not know just how long this would continue but she hop ed not long for several other boys let their feet slip last week and some cases needed watching. Of course we are anxious to know the outcome of the two just mentioned and since we emphasized this fact we hope to have more news on the outcome soon. I DR. W. H. LAWRENCE !
