aggieland to play
IN DALLAS OCTOBER 11
Say bo ?
Didj’a enter A. and M.
Lake Cliff Pavilion is the place,
October 11 is the date and nine o’clock
is the time, so all of you that are go
ing to Dallas listen to this. Spec
Egan ’23 is making elaborate plans
for you. He has all of the arrange
ments made, even to the signing of
the contract with Aggieland. And
you know, that with Aggieland play
ing and an A. and M. man sponsoring
the dance (and a dance is what I am
trying to tell you about) is due to be
a good one. Porbably you “old boys
remember that Spec was elected the
best dancer in his class, when he was
here. So knowing something of the
art himself his plans were not made
from a commercial standpoint alone.
Now get busy and beg, borrow, or
acquire the ways and means of at
tending that game and give that tean}
all you have. Then after it is all
over, journey out to the LAKE CLIFF
PAVILION and make your trip a
complete success.
The dance will not be restricted to
A. and M. men alone, but it is primar
ily for you and it will be the only A.
and M. dance in Dallas that night. So
get right and make that game and
don’t miss the dance for Spec is count
ing on you.

“Chin” Anderson and “Cow” Tur
ney stood it as long as they could, but
last Saturday was the limit, so the
Smithville Band greeted them that
afternoon. Too bad Chin’s girl was
out of town. We wonder if she heard
that he was coming.

Arthur Huff a nd “Soupy” Woods
made an extensive trip last week-end.
Calvert and Cameron were both hon
ored.

Barney Dodd was “out amongst
them” last week. We don’t know
just what night, but we think that he
went riding in one of those “Full”
Moons.

A. A. Ward, Milo Abercrombie, and|
Tom Stancliff were in Houston last
Saturday and Sunday. Milo was the
only one we could get a report on and
it is said that he and an old school
mate had a “Large” time.

Ask Barney Dodd about the letter
that was signed “From Just Me.”

We have been worried. Dr. Jaggie
was hard to locate most every night
last week. We were quite a bit eased
to discover that he has been learning
to drive a Paige. Could not say as to
the number of hands he needs to hold
the wheel.

The Science of
MILITARY TACTICS
Which you learned
As a member of the
BOY SCOUTS and the
SALVATION ARMY?
Did you aspire to
Reach those nearly
INACCESSABLE MILITARY
HEIGHTS?
All during your “fish” year,
Did you UNTIRINGLY TOIL?
A sophomore you came to be,
And did you only miss
A CORPORALSHIP
By the minor fact
That you were only
FORTY HOURS BEHIND.
As a sophomore,
Did you MANFULLY STRIVE
To do your MILITARY DUTY?
Were you a bit downcast
When you found
That in your THIRD YEAR
You were still
TWENTY-NINE HOURS BEHIND?
But did you to yourself say,
“WHERE THERE’S A WILL
THERE MiUST BE A WAY.”
Did you apply for a room
With a LIEUTENANT COLONEL?
Did you SHINE YOUR SHOES
AND STAY REGULATION
THROUGHOUT THE DAYS?
Had you all but given up
YOUR LIFE’S AMBITION,
And resigned yourself
To a dejected position
Of the UNWEPT, UNHONORED,
AND UNSUNG?
Did you stare hard,
And wipe your FEVERISH BROW?
Did your CHEST SWELL,
And did your EYES SHINE,
As you perceived
YOUR NOBLE NAME
Linged with your
SOUL’S DESIRE?
“A CORPORALSHIP”
In the U. S. R. 0. AND T. C.
Did you quickly
Take from your trunk
A pair of BEAUTIFUL CHEV
RONS?
Well preserved, although
FOUR YEARS OLD.
Did you march WITH CADENCE
Up and down the military walk,
That ALL might see you
As YOU ranked with
WASHINGTON AND NAPOLEON,
“THE LITTLE CORPORAL OF
FRANCE.”

“FEET OF CLAY”
“Make ’em timely!” say the fans.
“How’s this?” says Paramount in offering “Feet of
Clay” to exhibitors. As modern as rolled stockings, as
thrill-packed as they come.
“Feet of Clay” is typically DeMille, and you know what
that means—luxury, gorgeousness, linked with a logical,
dramatic, pictorial story.
A picture with a “smash” climax, the like of which has
never been seen before—a scene you’ll talk about just as
everyone did of the opening of the Red Sea in “The Ten
Commandmnts.” Here’s a real picture. Take a tip and see
it.
Friday matinee only 40c, with a big comedy. Night

Reduced matinee on Saturday of only 40c. That for you.

be too crowded. Matinees only 50c. Nights, lower floor

has shown in all large cities and you know it’s great.

Cross Country Team Getting Into
Fine Shape for the
Season.
Members of the Aggie track team
have already begun to train for the
coming track season. Most of the
emphasis of the work however is be
ing placed on the cross country team,
which is to take part in the Southwest
Conference cross country run on No
vember 22. The team will also make
a trip to Austin for a dual meet be
fore the conference meet.
Captain Gillespie, Royal, Bowen,
and Barnard are the chief members
of last year’s squad who are back for
the run. They are showing up well
in the first two weeks of practice.
The training work began on Septem
ber 17, the opening day of school.
Several track men who ran middle
distances in the track season last
year are trying for places on the
team. They are Captain Weddell
of the track team, Killain, Alison,
Chilcoat, Johnson and Blair.
Brock and Macy, two star men of
the Fish team of last year, are in
eligible for contests because of back
work in studies which has not been
made up. Blackman, Hembrie and
Crump, three men developed in in
tramural running last year, are show
ing up well.
