THE BATTALION 9 3 Those Fiorsheim Oxfords FOR SPRING HAVE COME IN AND THEY ARE BEAUTIES. MAY WE HAVE THE PLEASURE OF SHOWING YOU THESE UNUSUAL SHOES? Didja ever slip down Behind the old barn, and gently But firmly rope that three year Old steer, with the avowed Intention of either riding Him or giving him a darn good chance To ride you? And when you Goe the old boy tied up Close to that post-oak Tree, didja fix a rope Surcingle securely about His circumference, and don That pair of long shanked lock row- eled Spurs? And didja mount your steed And cast off that post-oak anchor? And did a battle royal take place, for each coach have been provided. The C. E. Department generously furnished the room in which Mr. Munson has been holding forth with his Hydraulics class and Mr. Sulli van turned it into several smaller rooms. The improvement at Kyle Field has been needed for some time and the benefits that will be derived will more than offset the .cost. Under the supervision of the Agricultural Engineering Department tile drains are being installed and by next sea son rain will not interfere to any marked extent with the conduct of the games. Mr. Snyder states that the plan embraces a well balanced system of drainage and after it has been installed the field can be drain ed in twenty-ffive minutes. Work will begin immediately and we will be given an opportunity to see how the drainage system works this Spring. And after a few minutes of mighty Bucking, bellowing, and other minor Accessories didja feel that Old surcingle give way, on the Mightiest upheaval of them all? And didja sail away into space Only to come down in a sitting Position with your legs folded under And at right angles to those Long-shanked, lork-roweled Spurs?? Say Bo, didja? I didn’t neither. For the benefit of the lame and halt, Social Secretary H. M. Tatum was host at the first dance of the leap year last Saturday night. We are even surprised and gratified that the admission took no leap. “Bull” Johnson’s suspenders and blue shirt were missed; but his for mal natty attire and pleasing grin was the favorite of the night. It has been devoutly wished that “Petey” Wilson had been there to demonstrate the “flea-hop” alias “Powder-puff” dance. The report is that one boy fell down. Modesty restrains the editor from us ing his own name. “Discretion is the better part of valor.” The music was good? Of course! The Aggieland played—Barney Dodd, featuring the vocal. A good spirit of enthusiasm prevailed and the dance was acclaimed a success. Introducing a drawing card for the oncoming Barnyard dance it was an nounced that ‘“Pewee” Faucett, “Flat- tonia” Berger, “Bio” Bowden and Charlie Regan have promised to be there so the girls can have a good time.
