!r T A L I O N s Dr. John R. Mott, International Sec’y of the Young Men’s Christian Association was the outstanding speaker at the State Y. M. C. A. Convention held in Dallas Saturday. The local Association was represent ed by D. D. Steele, president; W. D. Seals and A. L. Parke, members of the Student Cabinet. A preliminary conference was held just prior to the state assembly at which time various methods of “Y” work were discuss ed by representatives from various institutions of Texas. These discuss ion groups proved very valuable and the delegates received new ideas and plans for making the work more ef fective on the Campus. Dr. John Er hard, State Student Secretary led in these discussions. The delegates were very fortunate in having an- 250 present at both mee^*- which Dr. Mott spoke, anl his mes sages were received with great ap plause. From Dallas Dr. Mott went to Aus tin where he delivered two address es. From there he went to Houston where he delivered his last address in Texas this year. Those in atten dance at the various meetings with Dr. Mott were very fortunate in hearing such an outstanding Christ ian leader. Dr. Mott’s extensive trav els in the foreign countries has brought him in direct contact with world conditions, and his wonderful and easy delivery with his winning personality makes his especially ap pealing to an American audience. Stock Company of twenty-two people who will open a weeks engagement in this city un der their own tent theatre. At every meeting many were turned away for the lack of seating accommodations. The delegates were entertained by S. M. U. and the representatives from A. and M. were especially fav ored by being invited to dinner in tre girl’s dormitory. This was a new experience for them, but they man aged to survive the shock of such a dazzling array of beauty, and came out contented and full. The first meeting of the Confer ence with Dr. Mott, was held Satur day morning at which time various Associations Methods were discuss ed. At noon a luncheon was given at the Oriental, and Dr. Mott spoke on the World Problems and how we can best meet them. There were about changed nightly. The repertoire of this company is a varied one containing many new plays and many popular ones. This company has a special heating sys tem for the tent and it will be made cozy and warm. The opening play will be a four act comedy drama en titled “What Every Woman Should Know.” On the opening night next Monday, one lady will be admitted free with every paid adult ticket. The prices during this company’s stay in Bryan will be chillren 15c and adults 35c.
