FISH MASON.
The financial side of this “Bat”
was no small item. Fish Mason
started to work immediately after his
election as business manager. He
wrote about 175 letters to business
men all over the United States, ask
ing them for ads. He went to Bryan
repeatedly and begged and pleaded
with the Bryan merchants for ads.
Each member of the class was as
sessed 50c. But this was hard to col
lect; but Mason was tireless in his
efforts. He kept after the Bryan mer
chants and he kept his collectors busy
in the dormitories. His letters brought
very poor results. The big business

houses would not advertise. “Times
too hard.”
Mason picked two able assistants,
and after days of hard and arduous
work, they have successfully steered
this “Bat” through the straits of
finance. They are to be highly com
mended for their tireless efforts and
their success in such a year as this.
Advertisers are curtailing their ad
vertisements throughout the State.
And what ads were given were work
ed hard for. Mason has succeeded,
which is saying a great deal for a
manager this year.

“SKY” BOETTCHER.
“All right! who’s hungry! Crispetts?
How many, please? All right! Who’s
the next one? Get your crispettes
right here! It’s a long way to Tip
perary, but you don’t have to go far
for crispettes. Herseys! Cigars!
Chewing gum! Who’s hungry? Cris
pettes like your mother used to make!
They will neither tear, tarnish nor
wear, and only two more left, boys.
Whot wants the last ones? The ball
game is bum, but these crispettes are
mighty fine. Only seven more left!
The more you eat the more you want.
Get your crispettes right now! Strict
ly an educational affair, boys—rec
ommended by the Governor. Who’s
hungry?”
This is the “lingo” we hear every
day from “Sky” Boettcher, the living
wonder, the best salesman in Texas.
“Sky” was very successful with Ma
son in getting ads for the “Bat.”
“Sky” is assistant business manager
of the “Bat,” and he has certainly
done his part. He should receive
some credit for the financial success
of the Battalion. Though Fish “Sky”
is one of the busiest cadets on the
campus he has time to help the “Fish
Bat” immensely. For that, we thank
him.
FOUND — Sergeant Kenny has in
his possession an intercollegiate track
medal which was found on the
campus. The owner will apply to him.
