Sunday afternoon Vic Baraco pre sented the members of the football team with the “T” sweaters which he had been instrumental in procuring. He made a speech which will always be remembered by those who hearu it, and then he presented the “T’ sweaters. The Athletic Association has been unable to give sweaters for the past two years, but this year Ba raco got that financial brain of his working, and the sweaters were the result. He collected more money for the Thanksgiving hop than was needed, so he asked the corps to vote to buy the football team sweaters with the money that was left over. The corps voted unanimously to give the team the sweaters, so Vic ordered them and presented them to the team. RESOLUTIONS OF RESPECT. And be it further resolved, That as a token of our respect to the family of the deceased, copies of these reso lutions he published in the George town Commercial and in The Battal ion, and that a copy be sent the fami ly. THE COMMITTEE. Last Sunday’s sermon was the best we have had this year. Dr. S. P Brooks, president of Baylor Univer sity at Waco, preached an unusually good sermon. We heard several peo ple later wonder why it was that the authorities here did not secure such a man every Sunday. The only an swer is that such men cannot be found. The theme of Dr. Brooks’ sermon was “The Progressive Needs o' Man.” He developed tlr's subject in a clear and most extraordinary in teresting manner. Some of the needs which he discust were money, knowl edge, culture and religion. He de fined the extreme views held by some people with regard to each of these subjects. Last of all, he pointed out very clearly the conservative, middle position which leads to successful achievement. We shall indeed be glad when Dr. Brooks can visit the ,A. and M. Col lege again. A. M. L. S. The Andrew Moses Literary Society held a very important meeting Mon day night.
