The faculty members as well as students are par ticipating. Baylor, Nov. 12.—Student self-gov ernment is now before the faculty for approval—the last touch to make it a finished product ready for imme diate circulation. Baylor U„ Nov. 12.—Baylor’s rifle club is now one of the best pastimes, with fifty-eight members and J. G. Rousseau, a native Boer, who fought through the Boer war, as captain. Newspaper men should know that Mary Eloise Quarles, who on Monday captured first prize and sweepstakes at the Cotton Palace baby show, is the eight-months-old daughter of Col. James Hays Quarles and his estima ble better half. We may add, inci dentally, that baby Mary Eloise is said to be an infant replica, as to looks and traits, of her mother. But just the same, congratulations will go right cordially to Col. Quarles, for he was heard to declare that Monday was the proudest day of his life. “Many times have I scored a scoop,” he solilaquized, “but this is the scoop of my life, scored for me by my baby girl.” And baby Mary Eloise is as dainty and bright as one can imagine and those who know her did not won der at Col. Quarles’ pride and joy.— Waco Tribune. Caldwell handles the classiest jew elry you can buy. See his agents at Room 7, Foster. Colonial Theatre, Monday, Novem ber 23. SEATS ON SALE THURSDAY. “Bought and Paid For” contains some of the most human comedy that has ever been written into a play. The funny part about it is that the scenes which make the audiences laugh heartiest are really very serious to the characters themselves. The joint laughs created by “Jimmy” and “Fanny” are imposible to count, but they are always spontaneous laughs. War prices, 50c, 75c and $1. Colonial Theatre, Monday, November 23.
