He joined the corps at College Mon day in order to take in the festivities at Houston. Other Branches of Debating League on Account of Poor Attendance Adjourned Till Later. Last Friday night the C. E. branch of the Round Robin Debating club, at the first meeting elected officers and held the initial debate. T. R. Spence was elected president; P. C. Gillette, vice president; J. N. Olson, secretary; W. A. Orth, treas urer; and C. J. Holland, sergeant-at- arms. On completion of business, the de bate, “Resolved, That the boycott is a good policy for the cadet corps,” was warmly contested by C. C. Chin- ski and J. J. Waters, Jr., for the af firmative and C. J. Holland and P. C. Gillette on the negative. The judges, Messrs. McMillan, Wright and Gunter, having heard all tho por and con withdrew to the C. E. Library, where they had to toss up a dollar to decide the winner, and Messrs. Chinski and Waters being in cidentally declared the victors. BRYAN & COLLEGE iNTERURBAN RAILWAY COMPANY. CAMPUS NEWS. Miss Carrie Lehr from Pennsyl vania has come to College to spend the winter with her sister, Mrs. R. J. Bressler. On Friday night Dr. and Mrs. Ball gave a very enjoyable card party for their sister. Miss Carrie Ball of Vir ginia. There were five tables of play ers, for whom the time passed very quickly and pleasantly. After the games Mrs. Ball, assisted by Mrs. Bagley, served a delicious fruit salad with dainty sandwiches, almonds, olives and coffee. The guests were Dr. and Mrs. Blake, Lieutenant and COLLIN COUNTY CLUB. The Collin County Club held its first meeting Saturday night, Novem ber 2. The club reorganized and adopted the constitution of last year. A committee was appointed to select a pin for the club. Several new re cruits are here from Collin this year, and it is hoped that the club will be able to influence other boys to coihe to A. and M. in the future. The following officers were elected for the session; W. E. Ci'ockett, president; H. B. Dowell, vice presi dent; W. R. Forsyth, secretary and treasurer; W. W. Smith, historian; D. W. Crouch announce with pleasure the birth of a girl baby, Stella, on November 3, 1912, at Alvin, Texas. Eberspacher, ’07, is a member of the recently organized firm of E. J. Nelson & Co., Birmingham, Ala., deal ers in engineering supplies. “G. P. F. Jouine, ’07, is a levee in spector at Alsatia, La., wdiere a gov ernment contractor is building a levee loop to close a crevasse made by the 1912 flood. Jouine, who had served in the French army, holds the distinc tion of being the most military man graduating from the A. and M. Col lege. “A. G. Wilson, last year’s pen- pusher for The Bat, is similarly em ployed at Lima, Ark. “R. C. Lilley, ’07, is chief of a party. RESOLUTIONS OF RESPECT. At a special meeting of the class of 1914 of the Agricultural and Mechan ical College of Texas, on October 31, the following resolutions of respect were adopted; “Whereas, it has pleased Almighty God in His wisdom to remove from this life the sister of our beloved class president, Wyatt Gristie Beas ley; therefore be it “Resolved, That we take this means to etxend our heartfelt sympathy to the family of the deceased in this, their hour of deep distress, and com mend them to Him who alone can wounded heart; and be it further Mrs. Brown, Messrs, and Mesdames . „ , Spence, Bolton, Garner, Bagley, ^‘TST, ^ Misses Bumff and Milner, and Messrs. Puryear, R. F.
