a place kick, but failed. A. & M. put
the ball in play on their twenty-yard
line.
First down—Beasley went through
left end for nine yards. Second—Bate

end for five yards. A. & M. was penal
ized fifteen yards, placing the ball on
their twenty-seven yard line.

This year we have a team which,
in all probability, will have won the

HELP THE THANKSGIVING HOP.
“Kraut” Sandford and his corps of
able assistants are putting in their
spare time decorating the mess hall
in preparation for the Thanksgiving
hop, which is given each year to com
pliment the football team.

give these men too many honors for
the signal victory of Monday.
The cadets are co-operating with
Mr. Sandford, the chairman of the
decoration committee, . very heartily,
that is, the majority of them are co
operating with him. Several of the
students, however, are not showing
the right spirit in refusing to lend
him their pennants and banners—a
surprisingly large number are not
showing their appreciation of the team
—some are actually taking their pen
nants and banners from their walls
and putting them in their trunks to
avoid being asked for them. This
spirit, if spirit at all, is actuated by
the fear that some of the pennants
will be lost. This fear is natural, no
doubt, as several pennants were
stolen last year at one of the dances.
But this fall, as soon as the pennants
are collected, they are locked up for
