Freshman Guenther: “Why can’t we all have uniforms like Bill Price” Our former instructor in chemistry, Mr. O. D. Hargis, passed through here last Saturday. Dr. R. H. Harrison Jr. of Colum bus, stopped over a few hours last Wednesday to see his son. Mr. R. C. Billy was called to his parents’ home a few days ago, on account of his mother’s death. Fish King suggests that they change the “In God Wb Trust” on our silver dollars to “We Need Thee Every Hour.” Mr. Ramsey returned from Hous ton a few days ago. He took in the No-tsu-oh carnival and claims to have enjoyed it very much. Betty Harris, instructor in cook ing theory from 8:00 to 8:10 a.m. Practice all hours of the day and night. Lovers’ cooking a specialty. A mong the visitors for the Thanks giving hop were Misses Edna Crouch of Cuero, Helen and Annie Thorn ton of Austin, Louise Gilbert of Dallas, Hertha Boettcher of Wei mar. Wm. Beilharz left last Wednesday for his home in Dallas. “Billy” is ever ready to do what he can for the welfare of our school, and we know that he will always be found at his place of duty. Lieut. Woods to’ a ’Varsity 200 pounder: “If you were a little larger I would stop that big talk of yours, but I hate to hit a baby, ’twould look cowardly.” Misses Annaline Harvin, Fannie Bringhurst and Hattie Mathee, chap eroned by Mrs. R. H. Harrison Jr., of ..Columbus, were the charming young ladies of Houston who at tended the Thanksgiving hop. Prof. Marshall: M r. Downs, can you show me where the loins are on this steer? Downs: (Scratching his head for a few seconds) Professor, I believe they are here, pointing his finger to the breast bone. Captain R. B. Boettcher left this week for Louisiana. The Battalion wishes Captain Boettcher success wherever he may go, and we feel as sured that the A. and M.College has a loyal supporter wherever he may go or whatever may be his occupa tion. Those A. & M. fellows have the kind of grit that makes men. Against a team they knew they could not beat, they played as gritty a game as if the contest had been evenly matched. And their rooters rooted just as loud the second half as they did the first. The fact is, without their splendid spirit, they could not have scored on the University at all. For hopefulness and true Texas grit, the college boys are right there. —The Texan. Cadets, I sell a guaranteed razor for $1.00, strops from 25c up, hones, cups and brushes. I can’t make this darn yerse rhyme For my meter’s ont of time. Well, we’ve come'now, anyhow, And we’re going to start it now. We are hunting for Jthe cokers. And the grumblers and the croak ers. If you think you are above it, Why, wake up and “come out of of it.” We think it’s pretty hard that the faculty ruled out cigarette smoking. They ought to know we can’t afford cigars. But a rule is a rule, and we will have to put thafc in our pipe and smoke it. We verily believe that Uncle Dan is the hardest worked member of the faculty. Prof. Brown—Mr. Trefry, what is conservatism of energy? Trefry—Get all you can out of work. Capt. Sargent (speaking to corps in mess hall)—“I want you boys to always stand by you^ gun.” Then Hanson drew a long breath and said that he was glad he joined the bugle corps. The question is Who hit “Smiley” Bolton on the eye with a sweet pota to when he was looking at him. “Smiley” doesn’t know. Wake up, old fel, and get the potato out of your eye. Who said that the K. K.’s were the Kant Klub? Who said that they kant do anything but kant, and kant do that very well? Who said it? Well, he kan K. K., that’s all. Say, fellows, if 3'ou don’t want your names in here, “come out of it.” mmmmm DISCOURTESIES Tfc) GUESTS. It has been rumore(jl, said and con firmed that some of our A. and M. cadets took the liberty to fill their dance programs before the evening of the hop. Fora number of years it has been customary for some cadets to ask the Bryan boys to can cel any date for a dance that they may have made before the dance. What do you think of a cadet who is in favor of making such a request of the Bryan boys to give the cadets a “show” and then turn around and do the same thing himself? Who is guilty of such conduct we do not know. Was it you who should have been with your football team in Austin, giving them your support ? Was it you who planned it in the grand stand instead of yelling on the side lines ? The pi’esident of the hop, several committeemen and no doubt a good many cadets and visitors could get few dances during the entire even ing, because of the thoughtlessness of a number of the cadets in filling their programs before the hop. What will the visitors think of such conduct? What can we think of you ? What would you think if you were treated that way ? Boys, it is a shame. It is more—it is rude. Now, let this practice stop. At our next hop let’s have a good clean hop. And let it be the duty of every senior to see that such practice shall not be indulged in under any circumstances at our final ball. FOOTBALL SCORES. T.
