A. & M. VS. WAXAHACHIB.
It was a perfect day for football, but
the A. and M. boys didn’t seem to play
as though it was until the latter part of
the game, when they seemed to brace up
and handle their opponents with such
ease that the ball Was rushed up the field
in the last few- minutes of play for
the second touchdown.
In the toss for choice Waxahachie
won and chose the north goal, being
favored with a good wind.
Shultz kicked off to Waxahachie’s 20-
yard line, in which they returned the
ball ten yards.
Waxahachie then tries the line, but
are forced to kick, and the ball lands on
A. and M.’s 45-yard line and Foster re
turns several yards before being downed.
A. and M. starts off well by bucking the
line and going around the ends for very
good gains until she gets to Waxa-
haehie’s 45-yard line, when A. and M.
goes through right tackle for a good
gain, but fumbles the all. Waxahachie
then carries the all around left end two
yards, through left tackle one yard, then
through right tackle for three yards, and
try right end for four more.
A. and M. braces up and holds them
for downs, then A. and M. carries the
ball to W^axahaehie’s 12-yard line, where
it is again fumbled and Waxahachie falls
on it. By bucking tackles and going
around ends, Waxahachie carries the ball
back thirty yards, where she is held for
downs. A. and M. then begins to buck
Waxahachie’s line and carries the ball
to within twenty yards of goal, then the
ball is snapped to Gray, who with excel
lent interference carries the ball over the
goal line for the first touchdown. Shultz
missed goal. Score, 5 to 0.
Waxahacliie now kicks the ball off to
A. and M., who slowly carries the ball
down the field to Waxahachie’s 45-yard
line, when time is called.
At the beginning of the second half
the A. and M. boys begin playing lazy
football and the ball swayed up and
down the field. A. and M. finally got to
working together and by fierce line buck
ing in the last few minutes carried the
ball from their 45-yard line to Waxa
hachie’s 3-yard line, and by main strength
Brown was pushed over for the last
touchdown. Shultz kicked goal. Score,
11 to 0.
