FOOTBAIiXr A. & M. VS. WAXAHACHIB. It was a perfect day for football, but the A. and M. boys didn’t seem to play as though it was until the latter part of the game, when they seemed to brace up and handle their opponents with such ease that the ball Was rushed up the field in the last few- minutes of play for the second touchdown. In the toss for choice Waxahachie won and chose the north goal, being favored with a good wind. Shultz kicked off to Waxahachie’s 20- yard line, in which they returned the ball ten yards. Waxahachie then tries the line, but are forced to kick, and the ball lands on A. and M.’s 45-yard line and Foster re turns several yards before being downed. A. and M. starts off well by bucking the line and going around the ends for very good gains until she gets to Waxa- haehie’s 45-yard line, when A. and M. goes through right tackle for a good gain, but fumbles the all. Waxahachie then carries the all around left end two yards, through left tackle one yard, then through right tackle for three yards, and try right end for four more. A. and M. braces up and holds them for downs, then A. and M. carries the ball to W^axahaehie’s 12-yard line, where it is again fumbled and Waxahachie falls on it. By bucking tackles and going around ends, Waxahachie carries the ball back thirty yards, where she is held for downs. A. and M. then begins to buck Waxahachie’s line and carries the ball to within twenty yards of goal, then the ball is snapped to Gray, who with excel lent interference carries the ball over the goal line for the first touchdown. Shultz missed goal. Score, 5 to 0. Waxahacliie now kicks the ball off to A. and M., who slowly carries the ball down the field to Waxahachie’s 45-yard line, when time is called. At the beginning of the second half the A. and M. boys begin playing lazy football and the ball swayed up and down the field. A. and M. finally got to working together and by fierce line buck ing in the last few minutes carried the ball from their 45-yard line to Waxa hachie’s 3-yard line, and by main strength Brown was pushed over for the last touchdown. Shultz kicked goal. Score, 11 to 0. A. & M. VS. On October 27th 2000 people witnessed the game of football between A. and M. and ’Varsity, in which the latter won by very hard playing in the last eight minutes of the first half, after getting VARSITY. the ball on A. and M.’s 10-yard line on a fumble. The game was scheduled for 10:30 a. m., but the grounds were very muddy from the heavy rain the night before
