ALPHA PMT NOTES, William Malone and wife of Hunter’s Station were here. Will is still the same boy and it is a problem why Mrs. Malone ever said “yes” to his wooing. She is a most charming lady. W. S. Tobey formerly of Galveston, but now represent ing in Texas a St. Louis shoe house was frequently spoken to for Col. T. H. Franklin of Houston. Will some one mail the editor of the Alumni department Mr. Tobey’s address? The visit of the corps of cadets to Houston on April 21st recalls a piece of college history. Years ago in the seventies the corps attended the state fair at Houston in response to an invitation from Col. T. H. Franklin’s father. Gen. Bee, then the college Stewart, to illustrate some of the difficulties the college.labored under in early organization, told some Houston gentlemen at the Hutchins House of having ordered from a prominent firm $17.50 worth of butter and that the firm replied the butter would be shipped on receipt of the«
