| It’s not everyday you can find
I a football team for hire, then
I again, it’s not every day you can
| find a team with jerseys but no
[ pants.
[ The Tarleton State Texans
[will have a new stadium and
I new jerseys next year but are
| still in a quandry about where
[ the pants are coming from.
The team is presently carry
ing on a campaign to raise
money to pay for a better uni
form than can be squeezed from
the Tarleton budget.
Allotted funds will pay for the
jerseys they chose, but the
players are trying to raise
enough money to buy the pants.
The team is seeking jobs to earn
money.
Working as a group, they are
asking for clean-up, brush clear
ing or any other job that will net
at least $50.
One of the organizers said the
Texans have already earned
about half of the $1,000 needed.
In one job they cashed in on five
pick-up loads of beer and pop
cans retrieved from high weeds
and ditches around local drive-
ins.
The team also cleaned off a
120-acre area near Proctor
Lake.
All that beef is still for hire. If
you have a job that requires a
football team (think of the pos
sibilities), it can be contacted
through the Athletic Office at
Tarleton State University.

duties of A&M student Nolen

Twelve schools attended the con

of 125 delegates, Mears said. The
purpose of the convention was to dis

Mears considered this convention
much better than last year’s at

“Last year’s tended toward having
