Grayson Long will get the start
for A&M. The last outing for
Long was a little rough against
Arkansas, as he worked five in
nings, scattering six hits and five
earned runs in the win to move
to 8-0. Jared Poche will start on
the hill for the Tigers. Game
time is set for 6:35 p.m. and will
be televised on ESPNU.
Ryan Hendrix will get the
nod for A&M on Friday night.
In his first career start, Hendrix
went 4 1/3 innings, allowing
three runs on eight hits while
striking out five Razorbacks in
the process. LSU will send Alex
Lange to the hill. First pitch will
be thrown on the SEC Network
at 7:05 p.m.
For A&M, Sunday’s starter
has not yet been announced,
though Matt Kent normally as
sumes the duties. Game three of
the series will begin at 1:05 p.m.
and will air on ESPN.
LSU is 22-5 at home this season,
while A&M is 5-1 on the road
this season.

send-off celebration for Reveille VIII

Reveille VIII (above) is scheduled to be retired officially on May 9,
when Reveille IX, who was selected earlier this semester, will take
over the role.
Texas A&M will host a celebra-
tion for the retirement of Rev
eille VIII April 29.
The celebration will begin at 4
p.m. at the Clayton Williams Jr.
Alumni Center and will be open to
the public. Guests will be allowed
to take photos with Reveille VIII,
who has served as the A&M mascot
for seven years.
Remarks by university officials
will be made at 4:30 p.m., and the
ceremony will conclude with a
“mix and mingle” for guests from
5-6 p.m, according to a university
release.
Reveille IX was chosen earlier
this semester and will assume her
role May 9 at the Corps of Cadets
“Final Review” Ceremony. At this
time Reveille VIII will officially re
tire to the Stevenson Companion
Animal Life-Care Center operated
by Texas A&M’s College of Veteri
nary Medicine and Biomedical Sci
ences, where she will continue to
receive special care.
