“We realized that’s something
we needed to change,” Corbelli
said. “We knew we needed to
be more aggressive when we go
back to serve.”
Felder said her technique is to
keep the ball from spinning and hit
it hard in the middle, basically to
serveupa knuckleball.
“That’s what I love doing,”
Felder said. “A serve is an im
portant way to start, and you can
set the tone really well with a
lough serve.”
Corbelli said her squad started
slow in part because it was too
tight to start the game.
“We knew that in the end, we’d
come out on top,” said senior Me
lissa Munsch, who led the team
with 10 digs. “Being back at home,
we maybe were trying a little too
hard to win.”
Corbelli said it’s her job not to
be affected by the nerves, even be
fore an important game.
“I could see we weren’t there
yet; it just takes some patience,”
Corbelli said. “If I’m not going
to have it, then the team isn’t go
ing to have it.”
It also seemed like another
day at the office for junior out
side hitter Laura Jones, who tal
lied 14 kills to lead the team for the eighth time
this season.
