Attorney asks for judge
to determine man wrongly convicted
HOUSTON (AP) - An attorney for a man convicted
of a kidnapping and rape wants a judge to find that he
likely would not have been sent to prison 17 years ago
if DNA testing had been conducted then.
Attorney Mark Wawro contends DNA testing on
a hair collected as evidence in the case of George
Rodriguez since his conviction in 1987 proves
Rodriguez didn't commit the crime.
A panel of six nationally recognized forensic experts
found “egregious misstatements of conventional
serology" in the trial testimony of Jim Bolding, the
former director of the Houston Police Dep
