still have more in them.”
The women’s side will pre
sent a more broad competition,
but as with the men, most eyes
will be on lanes occupied by
A&M (10-1) and Texas (4-4).
The top times in the Big 12
women’s events this season
were also occupied by either
Aggies or Longhorns.
University of Kansas and
University of Nebraska have
been scoring high times in
recent meets and could provide
upsets in some events.
A&M women’s head
coach Steve Bultman said the
team has looked good in the
recent workouts, and that he
has no worries going into the
championships.
“All of the girls are excit
ed to see it come,” Bultman
said. “This is the next step
towards getting to the NCAA
championships.”
A&M junior Danielle
Townsend said the weekend of
the championships is always
hectic for her.
“I always have a hard time
falling asleep," she said.
“Not because the hotel pil
lows aren’t as soft as at
home, but because your mind

One of those wins was a
72-64 victory over A&M »in
Waco, and now the Aggies
have revenge on their minds in
a game that could easily be
considered the last winnable
game for A&M this season.

is constantly racing.”
In last year’s champi
onships, Townsend set two
career-high times in the 100-
meter-freestyle and as part of
the 400-meter medley relay.
Aggie freshman Rebecca
Sturdy said she is excited about
the upcoming weekend.
“1 can’t wait - racing is
what I live for,” Sturdy said. “I
feel like I have a lot to prove.”
Sturdy said she is feeling
the same sort of excitement
and nervousness that she felt
before her first collegiate meet.
She said she hasn’t sought
advice from her teammates
who have experienced the
championship before.
“I kind of want to find out
everything for myself,” Sturdy
said. “That way 1 don’t go in
with one expectation and come
out with a different result.”
The Aggies take to the
pool for their first event 6
p.m. Wednesday at the Lee &
Joe Jamail Swimming Center
in Austin.
Nash said he doesn’t plan to
be overly motivational before
the events but is going to pro
vide a small bit of advice.
“Just take care of your small
piece of real estate,” Nash said.
“You might be surprised and
pleased with the end result.”
After the Bears, A&M will play
the University of Colorado (15-
8, 7-5), Oklahoma State
University (21-2, 11-1) and the
University of Oklahoma (16-7,
6-6). Colorado is the only game
at home.
“I think our play has fallen
off a little bit, so we need to get
to at least playing well,”
Watkins said. “I think when that
happens you can do that better at
home than you can on the road.”
SPORTS IN BRIEF
Baseball game
rescheduled
Wednesday’s baseball game
between Texas A&M and
University of Texas-San Antonio
was rescheduled due to
inclement weather for 7 p.m.
March 31 at Olsen Field.
The Aggies will be back in action
this Friday for a doubleheader at 3
p.m. against Arkansas and 7 p.m.
against University of New Mexico.
Friday’s doubleheader will be
the first of six games the Aggies
will play this weekend as part of
the Domino’s Pizza Aggie
Baseball Classic.

Artists
Continued from page 1
“I think this is a great oppor
tunity for the University espe
cially since they are six interna
tionally-acclaimed experimental
multimedia artists,” said senior
political science major Ashley
Watson. “This is an opportunity
to bring in new and fresh ideas;
it’s incredible.”
There will also be
RE+VISIONS workshops that
students can sign up for,
Rollfing said. If someone
wants to schedule a presentation
from one of the artists in resi
dence, he. can contact Bill
TRANSIT
Jenks, visualization operations
manager and the dean of the
College of Architecture,
Rollfing said.
“Having other professionals
come and speak about the
importance of multimedia and
architecture is a great way to
get more ideas out to the stu
dent population,” said fresh
men education interdiscipli
nary studies major Afshan
Rajkotwala. “Especially with
the currently expanding archi
tecture program at A&M, it
will be helpful in attracting
more students to not only the
architecture program but also
to the campus.”
