The Colleges and Libraries at Texas A&M are completely committed to the creation of a
University characterized by excellence and built on a celebration of the differences among
us. As such we, the University Deans, emphasize our support for and implementation
of the following:
Texas A&M is committed to the fundamental principles of academic freedom, equality of opportunity and human
dignity. To fulfill its multiple missions as an institution of higher learning, Texas A&M encourages a climate
that values and nurtures collegiality, diversity, pluralism and the uniqueness of the individual within our state,
nation and world. All decisions and actions involving students and employees should be based on applicable law
and individual merit.
Texas A&M University, in accordance with applicable federal and state law, prohibits discrimination, including
harassment, on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation,
or veteran status, (from the Texas A&M University statement on harassment and discrimination)
The college deans, therefore, join with and enthusiastically encourage the entire Aggie
community to live the Aggie ideal of respect toward all and to work toward a campus that
better represents the people of Texas.
